Purpose of the Job

Specifying one or several components an leading the engineering studies to reach their required performances.

Position in the Organisation

Organisation Reporting

Hierarchically to The Domain Leader (DL).

Functionally to Mechanical Lead Engineer (MLE).

Missions

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

  • Respect of the delivery schedule (Requirement specifications) = 100% on time delivery.
  • Requirements definition by priority (Sorting by impact).
  • Quality of requirement derivaation and wording in tool database (DOORS)

Responsibilities

Accountable for:

  • Defining best trade-off beteween technical input constraints in order to optimize global QCD.

Responsible for:

  • Favouring the use of existing reference solution.
  • Starting from the RSAD L2 corresponding to the component, performing requirement development in order to define component specification.
  • Performing requirement development, using existing reference and applicable documents from Metiers, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer.
  • Performing product FMECA when necessary.
  • Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all the components specifications of his domain.
  • Analysing change request impacts and applying change if request accepted.
  • Providing Return of Experience.

 

Contributor for:

  • Supporting MLE for implementing and updating of Engineering risk mitigation plan, change order and problem closure.
  • Support MLE to define train configuration.

 

Educational Requirements and skills

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Materials or General Engineering Degree Bachelor of Science or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in R&D Automotive or Railways engineering department.
  • Knowledge of International standards.
  • Good knowledge on mechanical design.
  • Basic System engineering knowledge (System breakdown structure, SMART requirement, interfaces).
  • DOORS (or REQTIFY) knowledge appreciated.
  • Good communication skills, pro-activity and team working.
