Job Title:  Bogie System Engineer


Purpose of the Job

All Projects: supervises and validates the Bogie sub-system.

Project he/she is in charge of: manages bogie requirements and development with supplier and customer (Participating Units-TSE-TDE-TCE) during all phases of the project.

Product development: collect and capitalize Return of Experiences.

Organisation Reporting

Hierarchically to - Train Sub System Engineer (TSSE) Domain Leader 

Functionally to Project / Train System Engineering during project duration

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

  • QCD commitments : Quality of the Tasks, on-time Delivery, planned Costs
  • Requirements allocation and fulfillment


Manages project requirements and bogie development with supplier and customer (PU-TSE-TDE-TCE-Service) during all phases of the project

Prepares DR with suppliers (sub-system/product level) or with TSE (train/product integration level)

Ensures the quality of the deliverables (TSS E, PU & Suppliers)

Manages the technical Sub-System Project Single List Issues/Risk Analysis Mitigation Plan

Ensures that standard key design rules are applied with Platform and Sourcing colleagues

Ensures that the Metiers tools are well applied (costing tool, DRCL ….)

Supports the sites if requested on critical technical issues for actual and past projects

Reports the progress of the project (meetings, weekly/regular report) and

Is in charge to manage its work package and budget

Support the Participating Units for relations with national customers


Product Engineering

May on demand, manage some R&D Work packages, propose and drive Sustaining Plan (Second Source, Management of Obsolescence, Redesign to Cost, New development)

Collects and formalizes return of experience on solution

 The candidate has to be able to manage all bogie technical issue in complete authonomy.


Educational Requirements and skills

  • Mechanical Engineer degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience on mechanical design, in railway vehicles or automotive domain is preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and calculation of mechanical and suspension components
  • Knowledge of CATIA or equivalent
  • Good communication skills, pro-activity, team working, strategic vision
  • English conversational/writing/reading fluent mandatory
  • French conversational/reading advanced level is preferred
