PURPOSE OF THE JOB

“Power Supply Design Engineer” assist the “Power Supply Design Leader” to perform the basic and detailed power supply engineering activities for the following disciplines: high voltage, medium voltage, traction voltage, low voltage.

Functional report line to Project Manager (during project design execution and operation phase)

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

Responsibilities :

  • Perform the power supply (for high voltage / medium voltage / traction / low voltage parts) basic engineering activities of a project:
  • Provide electrical architectures, technical specifications, functional specifications and interface specifications,
  • Provide calculation notes,
  • Ensure the technical validation of the supplier’s equipment offers,
  • Perform the power supply (for high voltage / medium voltage / traction / low voltage parts) detailed engineering activities of a project:
  • Follow-up and validation of the technical drawings from the equipment supplier,
  • Provide the factory test procedures of the equipment,
  • Participate at the factory acceptance tests of the equipment.
  • Perform the power supply (for high voltage / medium voltage / traction / low voltage parts) detailed installation design of a project:
  • Provides the drawings related to the scope of work: Layout of Substations, Single line diagram (Line, depot, Substations), Low voltage diagrams (Substations), Earthing diagrams & Civil Works diagrams, Emergency Tripping System diagrams, Cables Lists, etc.
  • Validates the civil works drawings compared to the installation guidelines drawings (Civil Works & Earthing diagrams)
  • Assist the “Power Supply Design Leader” for coordination / interfaces with:
  • The POS engineering team (including automation and installation teams),
  • The others sub-systems of the project, particularly: Systems, civil works, SCADA, catenary, return current, EMC, earthing & bonding, etc...
  • The customer,
  • The project management team,
  • The suppliers, the subcontractors, and the partners,
  • Provide technical support to Construction and Test and Commissioning teams with regards to basic design, detailed design and installation design issues,
  • Participate (if requested) to the As-built documentation drawings modifications.
  • Key contributor in the configuration & change management process deployed, respecting the version of the documents to be used &/or provided, and archived.
  • Participate at the REX (Return of Experience) of the project.

 

 

                                                                            MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • CAD designer in electromechanical systems
  •  
  • Graduated from engineering school in electrical systems, or level or equivalent education or experiences

Desirable:

Certification on Autocad and/or other Design tool

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Good experience in Mechanical and Electrical design
  • Deep knowledge of the software AutoCAD by Autodesk, Revit, Navisworks and Bentley in 2D and 3D.
  • Experience in interfaces with other systems, especially with concrete civil work
  • Must have in-depth working Knowledge of ProjectWise and Teams (BIM Managers, coordinators and Design teams),
  • A minimum of two-three years of experience in electrical engineering,
  • Autonomy, motivated, initiative, and interested in technical topics,

 

Desirable:

  • Possess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently,
  • EHS background
  • Professional experience in railway transportation,
  • Good knowledge of electrical installation (high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage),
  •

  • Motivated, initiative, interested in technical topics, Delivery for the jobs asked by the hierarchy
  • Fluent in English and in the contract Language
  • Capability to collaborate with other modelers from any system
  • Proactively coordinate with Project teams.
  • Knowledge of railway environment
