Logistics Manager - Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic

Job  purpose

Responsible for the day to day management of the operational activities to project needs in all areas of logistics, material planning, inventory and distribution, and ensuring the delivery of the Supply Chain Management strategy.

 

Optimizes Security and delivers excellence in a QCD (Quality Costs Delivery) focused organization, for processes in relation with inbound and outbound physical project-related flows.

Mission

Goals

Successfully deploys best-practices to reach world-class excellence in Supply Chain

Implements ALSTOM Business Excellence to support project execution

Deploys APSYS in project phase

Continuously improves chain deliveries quality

Builds and execute the “logistics strategy” for project, including KPIs

Builds and updates project logistics costs strategy

Integrates site EHS objectives in his/her processes

Ensures attainment of project logistics-related terms, agreements, commitments and milestones

Analyses and provides solutions to identified gaps in current situation of the Logistics (internal and external), taking into account capacity, cost, risk, development and propose adjustment

Ensures comprehensive analyses include the understanding of the technologies and economics of the Supply chains and Suppliers internal and external

Manages the logistics team

 

Performance measuring

  • Cost savings in preparation and deliveries on the chain
  • Decrease in delivery problems (project schedule execution point of view)
  • Physical flows evolution (suppliers, site)

Duties & Main Responsibilities

  • To  manages flow strategy and its application
  • To monitor, optimize material reception and flow efficiency.
  • To synchronize material & information flow
  • To implement FIFO principle.
  • Design, deploy and optimize the import/export/customs and transportation processes, according to project’s logistics strategy
  • Physically to realize timely, accuracy and logical material product flow with due status
  • To provide suggestion about materials delivery and risks alarm to Project managers and stakeholders
  • To implement visual / 5S / EHS management in the incoming / dispatching area
  • Set up the tracing system of transportation.
  • To make monthly statistics for logistics execution
  • To set up KPI Monthly monitoring system to 3rd Party Logistics (kitting, C-Parts, VMI, Carrier…)
  • To provide qualified and safe internal logistics services to production activities, response to blocking missing part and provide analysis to demand action plan
  • Implement and maintain best practices on Safety and Security across the logistics execution
  • To deal with all affairs associated with Handbook as well as its audit
  • To be in charge of the Logistics / Flow Engineering with new projects, new layout, (when appropriate)

Profile

Education

Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Engineering, International Commerce degree, or university Degree in Technical/Manufacturing Engineering

Spanish (mother tongue or bilingual)

English (negotiation level). Fluent in English

French will be a plus

 

Desirable Education

APICS CPIM or CSCP or CLTD Certification will be a Plus

Master in Supply Chain Management will be a plus

 

 

 

Competence, Skills and Techniques, Qualification

5 years of experience of logistics/distribution/import/export management in make-to-project or manufacturing industries

Valuable Experience in import/Export/Customs/ Transportation management

JIT, pull-flows and logistics platforms principles

ERP knowledge, implementation as well

Rigor for cost management and procedure application

Team-working and leadership

Operational management

Knowledge of the international environment

Valuable experience in companies of same sector/activity or related will be a plus

Valuable Experience in Warehouse management will be a plus
