Lead business activities of the South LAM (Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador) organization for RSC, Signaling & Infra and Services product lines. Responsible for the management of that entity's resources as well as the establishment of strategic goals and formulating plans to make sure those goals are met.

Main responsabilities:

  • Develop and implement the country or sub-cluster Alstom strategy, supported mainly by LAM MD, Strategy Department and Platforms
  • Grow business by delivering on sales, orders, profit, margin and cash as per agreed budget for the country or cluster, with support from Customer Directors for existing clients and Business Development for new clients
  • Deliver on sales, orders, profit and cash as per agreed budget, supplemented by Customer Directors for existing clients and Business Development for new clients
  • Validate and follow-up all decisions with direct impact on country/cluster profit & loss
  • Be the main interface with local external authorities (e.g. government, municipalities, federations)
  • Act as the Legal Representative (including the management and control) of the Alstom companies based in the country or cluster including oversight of any Branch offices
  • Ensure that the Ethics & Compliance policy is applied in the country in respect of all business transactions and of personal integrity, and that all associated Rules, Procedures and Guidelines are strictly followed.
  • Maintain budgets for managed entity as well as the individual projects it takes on and monitor costs against budget
  • Make key decisions for managed entity (Go/No Go decisions)
  • Review monthly KPIs and Balanced Score Cards.
  • Review and processes Sales Incentive Plan.
  • In domestic countries, manage a central pool of BD and Sales resources and assign them based on defined priorities. Define & implement in particular in non-domestic countries the relevant BD strategy
  • Ensure efficient interface management with Regional Centers in the country or cluster.
  • Provide all necessary support to other Regions for Bids & Projects execution (country by origin)
  • Manage the relationships with the unions and/or employees, with local HR and Site MDs
  • Develop and protect Alstom image in the country or cluster with key stakeholders
  • Ensure local coordination through regular meetings with other Regions or Central functions representatives to make sure Alstom policies and processes are understood and applied (ie People Management Cycle, EHS)

Requirements for this position: 

  • Over 10 to 15 years of experience in the Transport/Automobile/Heavy Machinery/Industrial Technology industry with at least 10 years of relevant experience in General Management managing a P&L
  • Strategic thinking, entrepreneurial attitude, Innovative and creative
  • Excellent communicator with solid experience in forming and leading teams and in people management
  • Good commercial knowledge for assessing business risks and opportunities enabling decision making for the business profitable in the respective Country/Cluster
  • Sensitivity to different cultures. Flexible, adaptable to other people and to different situations, open minded
  • Advance level of Spanish Language
