We are looking for a Mechanical Foreman for our Sanford, Florida facility.
In your role as a Mechanical Foreman, you will:
Provide expertise in trouble shooting electrical & mechanical issues with locomotives. You will be required to work with, evaluate and participate with the training necessary to develop the workforce to be a safe/efficient & skilled team.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- This position will provide the necessary coaching, mentoring and hands on training of all employees assigned.
- Identify problematic systems/parts to ascertain performance failures using diagnostic and faultfinding techniques.
- Interface with client technical staff to identify technical reliability solutions.
- Continually propose improvement to equipment, practices and maintenance programs.
- Maintain Maximo database with daily work orders.
- Act as shop lead for Locomotive Technician and Maintenance of Equipment Technicians.
- Schedule job assignments for Locomotive Technicians and Maintenance of Equipment Technicians.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a proven track record with Locomotive repair or building with regards to electrical systems and diesel mechanics.
- High School diploma/GED.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Proficient in written and spoken English is essential, French and Spanish are considered as assets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Rail Equipment Systems and Sub-systems
- Prior years of experience leading Maintenance personnel

- Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications--both general and technical)
- Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)
- Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)
- Mechanical and Electrical aptitude
- Strong Leadership & Team Building skills
Physical Requirements
- Heavy work, lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds on a rare basis
- Reach/handle/touch/grip/stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/crawl/balance/climb/walk/stand constantly
- Exposure to equipment that intensifies the heat factor on an occasional basis

- Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries
- Wear protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety-toe boots, or safety glasses where applicable
- May require random testing for drugs and/or alcohol
- May require a post-offer medical examination, including drug.
Environmental Conditions
Work outside in all weather conditions in confined spaces, and on occasion at elevated heights.
