Join us as a Sr Interlocking Engineer and you will be loolking at a career defining role based in Madrid, Spain

Your Role: 

As a Sr Interlocking Engineer you will design, analyze, develop, test and demonstrate engineering solutions that solve complex requirements related to interlocking signaling scope. You will provide cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs. You will also provide technical expertise in support of other departments and less experienced engineering personnel.

 

Your Challenges: 

  • Reviews signaling technical specifications, estimates costs and schedules, plans his/her own work of others, initiates and leads engineering design programs. Mentors less experienced signaling engineers while requiring little personal supervision, imparts technical expertise and experience to others, demonstrates a consistently high level of quality and personal integrity.

 

  • Designs engineering systems and complex signaling interfaces, gathers and analyzes complicated technical data related to interlocking, solves system level design problems, performs system trade-off and coordination studies, creates novel design alternatives, develops reliability, safety and maintainability approaches in the interlocking logic code, decides on optimum design approach.

 

  • Tests, demonstrates and documents main line system level designs, develops logic test procedures, leads design reviews internally and with customers, delegates work to subordinates

 

  • Provides signaling expertise in support of Customer Service, Program Management, Manufacturing, Field Start-up, Operations and Maintenance Manual production.

 

  • Generates engineering reports, financial reports, status reports, D-Specs., technical proposals, patent disclosures and technical papers for publication. Performs cost analyses, evaluates and recommend components, devices and sub-contractors. Maintains Design Manuals for designated cognizant topics

 

Qualifications:

  • Engineering, Physics or Mathematics educational background
  • minimum 8 years of relevant work experience with BSc degree or 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience or PhD degree and 5 years of relevant experience in railway company (or similar).
  • Engineering experience in similar field of work / leadership experience
  • Interdisciplinary technical background (traditional railway signaling, ERTMS, SCADA, power supply, data networks, civil works, etc.).
  • Interest to extend technical skills.
  • Safety knowledge, Quality and Configuration Management.
