Alstom in Germany is one of the major suppliers of German rail infrastructure. The company focuses on manufacturing rail vehicles for local rail transport: trams and suburban railways, commuter trains and regional trains. In this context we are looking for a VIE HR Recruitment Specialist based at our site in Salzgitter/Germany


Mission description:



  • Focuses on Sourcing/Recruiting/Interviewing candidates
  • Meets with Hiring Managers to establish recruitment needs and produce accurate job specifications
  • Meets assigned hiring deadlines and headcount fulfillment for open positions
  • Screens resumes, selects suitable profiles and assesses candidates
  • Sources candidates utilizing tools provided and using out of the box thinking/techniques
  • Ability to cold calls and communicates effectively to potential candidates
  • Regular use of Social Media, including LinkedIn and other job boards
  • Seeks referrals and recommendations to source potential candidates
  • Reports to HR on an ongoing basis, to monitor and feedback progress on assigned vacancies
  • Data Entry, including but not limited to MS Excel / SAP




  • Assistance in all daily administration issues
  • Organize, monitor and evaluate internal and external training programs to enhance training efficiency
  • Anticipate and assess potential learning needs; propose adequate training to facilitate internal mobility
  • Collect information and prepare reports for month-end figures and follow up indicators
  • Elaborate, manage and follow the organization training plan according to a need analysis


Candidate profile

  • Master’s degree (preferable in HR, Business Administration, Psychology or similar)
  • First experience in HR (e.g. internships) 
  • High level of engagement and commitment
  • Independent, autonomus and structured way of working with high level of flexibility
  • International mindset and spirit
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • A good handling of MS-Office package, Outlook, People Soft, SAP etc.
  • Fluency in English, good level of German required
  • Interpersonal skills Required
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in an international environment and with different cultures
  • Strong customer and service-oriented mindset
  • Sense of confidentiality/discretion

Details of the Volunteers for International Experience (VIE) programme:
Assignments are open for citizens of European Union countries between 18 and 28 years, who have fulfilled the military service obligations of their country; 
A VIE assignment will be in a country other than that of the applicant; 
Set up by public sector statute in France, managed by the BusinessFrance organisation; 
Assignment lasts from six to 24 months, renewable once within a cumulative limit of 24 months; 
Compensation (non-taxable) linked to the cost of living index and set by BusinessFrance according to the destination country; 
International social protection is extended to eligible parties; 2.5 days of holiday per month
