The Train Lab Manager is responsible within the development, validation and authorisation process for ensuring that the Tenstbench/TrainLab is ready on time and in the correct configuration for tests, verification and validation. The TLM monitors performance and availability and continuously optimises the TrainLab.

 

Tasks

  • Build and deploy the testbench/TrainLab to realise the test scopes based on the project needs.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in the preparation of the lab documentation and the technical functional configuration.
  • Managing the development of specific models and integration of external modelling from e.g. suppliers, participating units, etc.
  • Management of the laboratory tool configurations with regard to the planned tests.
  • Cross-functional management of interface functions for the timely correct provision of equipment, schematics, models, software releases, etc.
  • Ensuring proper lab test configuration (hardware + software) appropriate according to the tests to be performed.
  • Configuration management according to the project needs.
  • Staff planning for the test activities, aligned with the requirements of the Train Validation Engineer (vehicle level).
  • Responsibility for the proper operational maintenance of the Testbench/TrainLab.
  • Support in tender activities, during preparation of test activities, lead in clarification of technical issues, preparation of test reports.
  • Compliance with EHS regulations (especially in relation to activities in the Testbench/TrainLab).
  • Management of the work package assigned to the Testbench/TrainLab.

 

Profile

  • Successfully completed (technical) university education as an engineer (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, IT or similar)
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of /vehicle) validation, use of test infrastructure and ideally in the use of laboratory environments
  • Practical experience in the field of software and model development, as well as software integration and validation
  • Knowledge of train systems and, in the best case, experience in testing rail vehicles or (sub)systems
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
  • Independent as well as customer- and goal-oriented way of working
  • Commitment, initiative and ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills, negotiation skills, willingness to travel
