Your Future Role


2,000 colleagues shape in Salzgitter the future of green mobility. They design and manufacture hydrogen and electric-powered vehicles, locomotives, and trams, produce bogies, and repair all kinds of freight wagons. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Luigi ACCARDO and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team. 


We are seeking a System Engineer specializing in Bogie systems for railway vehicles to join our system engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the system integration of bogies at the vehicle level, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and requirements, and providing guidance from the tender phase through the development of the vehicle and its validation.

 

We’ll look for you to:


    Work closely with specialists from different disciplines to ensure that transversal requirements are properly allocated to all bogie subsystems. 
    Develop bogie system requirements based on reference and applicable documents, including Standards, Certification, Safety, and customer specifications.
    Define the performance, interfaces, operational modes, and functionalities of the bogie system.
    Act as the primary technical interface with the Bogie Engineering team.
    Drive and manage technical relationships with other subsystems. 
    Participate in technical meetings with customers to provide expert support and technical insights.
    Define the train verification strategy for the bogie system.
    Write train-level test specifications and ensure successful integration and tuning at train level of the bogie system.
    Support commissioning and validation activities.
    Conduct failure analyses in close collaboration with specialists during the verification, validation, and reliability growth phases.

   

All About You


    Engineer degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related field.•     
    Experience in bogie system engineering or bogie design.
    Experience in writing specifications and test plans, as well as participating in design reviews.
    Ability to support project management tasks, such as tracking timelines and coordinating with team members.
    Experience in working with various teams and managing relationships with suppliers.
    Good communication skills in English; knowledge of German is a strong advantage.
    Ability to moderate between relevant stakeholders inside ALSTOM.
