Inside the Indirect Sourcing department (>4Bn€ purchases) and hierarchically linked to Facilities Commodity Director, we are looking for a Facilities – Energy Commodity Manager. This role involves the purchasing of Energy categories.

You will manage numerous internal and external stakeholders to develop Energy requirements within Facilities global perimeter and defined Procurement strategies on Energy that deliver value for money and fit for purpose solutions. The applicant will have strong experience/knowledges on Energy market and topics related to with a sustainable mindset to drive the change on energy efficiency and energy transition.

 

You will have the following: 

Objectives

  • Coordinate and source in line with business objectives and according to ALSTOM procurement processes
  • Define & develop commodities strategy with all stakeholders and drives its implementation
  • Contribute to build Global Commodity strategy
  • Lead commodity maturity improvement plan
  • Negotiate contracts and frame agreements with key suppliers
  • Define supplier target panel in-line with Sourcing strategy and makes sure it is implemented
  • Insure Commodity strategy efficiency with benchmarking 
  • Insure Commodity maturity improvement through audit support and continuous improvement programs
  • Innovate with best practices proposal and leadership or implementation
  • Be recognized as a business development facilitator and an added-value contributor
  • Support Tender and Project Phases
  • Lead Procurement topics related to Energy efficiency and transition projects

Responsibilities

  • Build transversal commodities strategy improvement and deployment
    • Develop and share market constraints understanding
  • Ensure Procurement project/service execution/influence by:
    • Developing close network of internal and external stakeholders worldwide
    • Working with internal stakeholders to align requirements with Procurement objectives
    • Challenging technical specifications produced by stakeholders
    • Bringing innovation through supplier selection and sustain supplier QCD performance
    • Contributing to Make or Buy decision process utilizing reference costing and market indicators
    • Supporting global negotiation for key projects securing savings in line with global targets
    • Ensuring Procurement strategy application and alignment with processes and policy
    • Developing strong relationship with Regions and sites procurement organization
    • Supporting Tender and Project Phases
    • Driving supplier complex negotiations as appropriate
    • Performing regular (min. quarterly) supplier performance review and solving major issues and securing objectives achievement
    • Managing Energy Procurement contracts and hedging/swap on the market
  • Lead/Monitor Energy transition & efficiency topics by:
    • Ensuring the Virtual Power Purchase Agreement project execution and looking for additional one
    • Supporting the AiM objectives and leading RE100 procurement strategy & decarbonation
    • Leading the Procurement activities related to Energy Efficiency projects including:
      • Financing (CAPEX, OPEX, Leasing, Credit-Bail, …)
      • On-site generation (Solar Panels, …)
      • Subsidies (CEE, …)
      • Others like Energy Management Systems, LED, ceiling fans, biomass, …
  • Interact with a multicultural team

 

PROFILE

  • Educational DegreeBusiness school or Engineering school preferred
  • Experience
    • Experience between 10 to 15 years in international purchasing within an industrial environment
    • Experience within Management (direct and functional)
    • Experience with Energy market and topics related
  • Technical & Behavioral Competencies
    • Strong buying and negotiating expertise
    • Capability to build a robust strategy
    • Strong sense of business acumen and analytical skills
    • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills
    • Management experience
    • Results, service and Customer oriented
    • Agile in a multi-cultural environment
    • Team spirit, autonomous, force of proposal
    • Speaking English and French mandatory
    • Able to regularly travel to sites (20%) under scope of responsibility
    • Strong Technical knowledge of the commodity and supplier market expert in the commodity
