Within Electrical and Propulsion Procurement Domain, reporting to the Auxiliary Converters and Traction Transformers Commodity Manager, you will be focused on strategic components and sub-assemblies.


Commodity Leader is positioned at the interface between Alstoms product / project teams and the suppliers that supply core component technologies. The commodity Leader will develop and execute the procurement strategies, as well as recommend product innovations.

The position requires an interest in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation.


In your role you will in particular :

  • Support Commodity Management (representing the commodity when necessary, consolidating needs, animating commodity network...)
  • Collaborate across the global Alstom organization to ensure business objectives are met from tenders to projects in strict compliance with procurement processes.
  • Contribute to build and drive comprehensive strategy in close coordination with Product lines and Regions to deliver lower costs, risk mitigation, higher quality parts the first time and secure delivery on time to the needs of the business.
  • Optimize procurement performance through cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence and drive procurement decisions.
  • Perform procurement activities (supplier performance monitoring, lead saving plan, perform RFQ and negotiations for some given RS platforms, provide commitment...)


Required / preferred background

  • Procurement professional background
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Industry
  • Minimum of three years working experience in purchasing
  • Engineering or Business School master degree / Master in Purchasing preferred
