Part of Alstom sourcing within the Interior Domain representing 400M€ purchases worldwide, we are looking for an apprentice buyer based in Valenciennes (North of France). This job is global, with large operational and strategic topics.

You’ll be based in the Alstom’s Center of Excellence Interiors (COE) which is a global expert in design and conception of interiors for rolling stock. COE entity is highly qualified and versatile in its domain with more than 100 employees of more than 18 different nationalities. We’d like to continue growing with talented and passionate people!

 

Within your training period, you’ll oversee the following mission:

Interact and support the sourcing commodity responsible of rolling stock and services (understand the strategic aim, review the sourcing strategy and participate  in the contractual and commercial negotiations with principal suppliers). You’ll work with a majority of international suppliers, and  you’ll face various risks linked to the market (economical, cultural, logistic, legal and geopolitical…).

 

According to your mission, you’ll develop the following skills:

  • Contractual and commercial negotiation
  • Formulate a Sourcing strategy, building and managing the supplier portfolio

 

Job interest

  • Work in international and technical environment with strong sourcing skills and processes
  • Strategic overview on international project
  • The mission including economic, technical and quality related  tasks

 

Pofile

  • Curriculum / Field of studies: Engineer or Master Degree in purchasing/sourcing with a first internship in industry is an asset.
  • Good relationship building and communication skills
  • Autonomy and pro-activity
  • Dynamic,  synthetic and analytic thinking
  • Computer literacy: Excel and Powerpoint mandatory
  • Ease of integration within an International environment: English  speaking
  • Open-minded and interest  of international business

 

Terms
