Within our Digital and Integrated Systems (D&IS) activities, the Saint-Ouen Development Center is in charge of designing main Alstom Urban CBTC Signalling Solutions : Urbalis 400, deployed on more than 100 projects around the world; Urbalis Fluence, the latest innovative Signalling System solution for Urban application and the on premise virtualization solution deployed on all D&IS businesses. 

 

Purpose of the Job

In the context of the Alstom Virtual Platform development 

  • To establish the system development strategy to implement the system roadmap, in collaboration with the System Application Architect, Design Authority, System Architect, and System Program Manager according to needs expressed by the Solution Director / Projects
  • To establish the development plan and work packages, in collaboration with other members of the program core team
  • To lead the system development to deliver the system according to the program plan

Detailed Responsabilities and Tasks

Mission and deliverables

  • Member of the program core team

  • Applies process, methods and tools as referenced by the program development processes

  • In collaboration with the System Program Manager, the program core team, and support of the System Architect(s), he/she defines the system development strategy and roadmap for development and sustaining

  • Defines and obtain commitments and maintain WP (Work Package) files (QCD commitments) for the system/sub-system in his scope

  • In charge to produce and maintain the System Engineering Management Plan identifying:

    • system development strategy and baselines

    • Processes and tailoring, and deviations   

    • Technical risks

    • Specific technical referents (Experts, CCN, end users, ..) 

    • Configuration management plan together with the Configuration Manager

  • Ensures application of technical decision management, validates decision together with the program stakeholders  

  • Ensures the organization of Design Reviews

  • Organizes and leads the system development activities to ensure QCD commitment:

    • Coordinates System development activities (System design & specifications- including activities performed by Participating Units or subcontractors)

    • Organizes and conducts to the CCBs (Change Control Boards) with participation of program stakeholders, including System Application Architects

    • Alerts and report on any event/risks  that may impact the system development and associated QCD commitments

    • Participates to the system development schedule review

    • Establishes the consolidated reporting on his/her WPs of the system development

 

  • Provides QCD analysis estimation on evolution together with the program core and engineering teams

  • Organizes and leads the system delivery together with the Configuration Manager

  • With the System Architects, he/she liaises with the System Application Architect for projects and tenders activities (evolutions & anomalies analysis, documentation support)

  • Validates material selection and procurement activities together with the System Program Manger

  • Organizes with the System Program Manger the capture and activities for continuous improvement (RoE: Return on Experience, process, metrics,…)

  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
