WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER:

 

As part of our Alstom Digital & Integrated Systems activity, the Saint-Ouen Development Centre is in charge of designing the main Alstom Urban CBTC Signaling Solutions: Urbalis 400, a system deployed on more than 100 projects worldwide, and Urbalis Fluence, our latest and most innovative Urban Signaling System. 

 

The System Application Architects are the technical managers of the offer and pre-offer activities for the Signaling systems.

 

They have a key role in defining the next steps of our Signaling System in future applications, in line with platform reuse strategies and market needs.

 

Their role is to:

  • Define the best design proposal and deployment strategy to meet customer expectations
  • Share the technical requirement and agree on the solution with Alstom’s offering teams, customer interface teams, development teams and strategic leaders.
  • Promote our Systems and their technical advantages to potential customers, as well as internally during training or communication meetings.
  • Contribute to other Signaling Innovation Programs at Alstom as System Experts.

 

You will therefore be in charge of:

 

  • Come to grips with the overview of the technical solution proposed in the offer or pre-offer;
  • Contribute to Alstom’s strategy by identifying technical differentiators to assess the suitability of our Signaling Systems to the different markets.
  • Analyze compliance with customer requirements and review the analysis of other technical stakeholders in the offering to provide a seamless solution.
  • Organize design workshops with relevant intervenor (including Development Centre teams).
  • Contribute to Offer Design Reviews, Offer Documentation Writing, External Interface Management, Understanding Signaling System Principles, Architecture, Deployment or Migration Strategies.
  • Define the signalling system upgrades, their costs and follow the costing activities
  • Prepare, participate in and/or lead internal or customer technical presentations in the pre-offer or offer phase.
  • Minimize system deployment costs, delays, and technical risks through design choices.
  • Ensure the system follows a standardization approach by reusing existing solutions or defining new reusable solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (feedback, processes, etc.).
  • Promote our Systems internally through presentations or training.
  • As a Signaling System expert, contribute to other Alstom Innovative Signaling Programs.

 

WHAT IS YOUR PROFILE?

 

  • Graduate of a master’s degree in Engineering or university equivalent, preferably with a specialization in Rail Transportation Systems.
  • Experience preferred: Minimum of 8 or more years of experience in a similar position (system design, project engineering, validation, or operational safety) within a Transport company, experience in Rail Signaling would be appreciated.
  • Ability to solve technical problems: with rigor, critical thinking, analytical approach, but with creativity, you are able to synthesize the different aspects of a technical subject as well as to make reasoned decisions, and conduct analyses independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a taste for collaborative work, as well as technical management: you enjoy working in teams and technical coordination, you are open and comfortable when presenting to clients, and motivated by multicultural environments.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
