Could you be the full-time Turnkey Validation, Testing and Acceptance Manager (VTA) we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field.
You’ll lead the Validation, Testing, and Acceptance (VTA) activities for the projects under execution and potential tenders. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (e.g., tender teams, VTA and Testing and Commissioning (T&C) teams), maintain and improve methods and tools used in the VTA/T&C process, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of providing support on pre-tendering and tendering activities, as well as project execution, but also act as the VTA/T&C Manager during some project start phases (onshore/offshore) and relocate to project sites when T&C execution begins.
Your mission
- Developing and supporting tender teams on the VTA scope of work
- Developing and supporting project VTA/T&C teams
- Maintaining and improving methods and tools used in the VTA/T&C process and monitoring their implementation
- Acting as VTA/T&C Manager during project start phases and transitioning to project sites for T&C execution
- Ensuring Alstom VTA/T&C review processes are known and applied on projects
- Ensuring that EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards applicable to Testing and Commissioning are known and applied on projects
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- Degree in Engineering
- Broad knowledge of the subsystems/products in Turnkey projects
- Extensive knowledge of the rail environment and engineering practices
- 8 years of experience in the field of VTA and T&C (with emphasis on railway systems), ideally with experience as a VTA Manager or T&C Manager on a project through to in-service
- Understanding of operation procedures
- Good IT skills and an appreciation of an engineering/design/production environment and associated documentation
- Resilience and capability to work under pressure, with a strong sense of priority
- Strong communication skills to foster open dialogue, create enthusiasm, promote collaboration, and encourage proactive listening
- Ability to apply Alstom processes, values, and Ethics & Compliance (E&C) standards
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
Things you’ll enjoy
Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
- Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
- Contribute to innovative projects
- Utilise our hybrid working environment
- Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
- Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
- Progress towards leadership roles or specialised technical expertise
