Alstom is the leading supplier of integrated turnkey transportation system (metro, tramway, monorail, APM, mainline). Those turnkey systems typically involve the delivery as a single integrated system of the following: rolling stock, signalling, telecom system, power supply, trackwork, depot, platform screen doors, AFC, etc.

To support it's growth on the turnkey system market, Alstom is looking for an experienced Turnkey Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) both within its central organization and on project location. On turnkey project, the PrEM is the technical leader in charge of system integration and system engineering.

The PrEM pilots the technical aspects of the Project or Tender. Represents technically the project, vis-à-vis the customer. Specifies and validates, with his team, the Transport System Solution, and controls the technical consistency through a strong interfaces Management. 

 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • In tender phase, build the optimized solution (technical, performances, cost) with the support of the subsystem’s technical managers and quote the turnkey engineering workpackage.
  • Manage the technical relationship with the Consortium and the client
  • Choose the hypotheses for performance calculations and validate the results
  • Validate the system Specifications and the interfaces specifications produced by his team
  • Control the System configuration and requirement management in accordance with the design milestones of the project
  • Manage Design Changes related to the transport system definition throughout the project lifecycle
  • Follow the Preliminary and Final Designs progress
  • In relationship with the Project Test & Commissioning Manager, prepare the VTA activities
  • Lead, develop and motivate the Engineering Project / Tender team
  • Implement the Methods and Engineering tools
  • Ensure the carry-over from previous projects and current R&Ds
  • Support the Project Manager

 

We are looking for the follwing profile: 

  • Master University Degree in Engineering
  • Broad Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment and systems
  • At least 5 years of experience in Railway system engineering in an international project
  • Expert in System Engineering
  • System Engineering methodology (MBSE)
  • Safety oriented
  • Fluent in English, and fluent in contract language
  • Wide knowledge of the rail environment appreciated
  • Good co-ordination and communication
