Purpose of the Job

Manage the system engineering mobilisation for system bids and pre-tendering activities
Ensure the quality of the technical proposal
Validate the system engineering costing for bids
Manage the system bid engineering resources


Organisational Reporting

Reports to the Saint Ouen Turnkey engineering centre manager




Manage and anticipate the system engineering mobilisation for bids in agreement with the system bids director
Manage and anticipate the system engineering mobilisation for pre tendering activitiess in agreement with the system solutions director
Ensure the System Engineering Tender Method application on all the bids
Verify the quality of the bids technical proposal. organise the technical peer review
Validate the bids system sizing ( performances, assumptions )
Validate the system engineering sharing between on and off shore and the costing for each bid
Lead, develop and motivate  the bid engineering resources ( Workload, hiring, competencies, PMC )
-Organise the tenders engineering REX
-In addition to these team manager responsibilities, the bids Engineering manager will also have to manage technically directly some major system bids


Candidate requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Engineering



  • Broad Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment and systems
  • At least 10 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions including at least 3 years in managerial positions in international projects
  • Senior Expert or Expert in System Engineering


Functional Know How

  • System Engineering practices
    QCD methodology
    Experience of People Management
    Fluent in English
    Wide knowledge of the rail environment appreciated
    Good co-ordination and communication
