Join us as a Treasury Controller / Middle Officer (m/f) within the Corporate Treasury Team and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Saint-Ouen-Paris, France
In this role, you will have an active contribution in controlling operation initiated by the Front Office and the proper application of the hedge accounting policy through the Group, consolidate KPIs for treasury (net debt components, financial P&L and financial items in Free Cash Flow) in actuals, establish the In-House-Bank operational budget/forecast and draft the notes to Group and statutory Financial Statements.
The Corporate Treasury is organized as follows:
- Capital Markets is responsible for the Group long term financing and liquidity strategy.
- Front Office, which is the dealing room trading with banks and supporting Units on FX and commodities hedging strategies.
- Treasury Control, controlling Group exposure to financial risks and supporting Units on hedge accounting.
- Cash Management, managing the daily liquidity of the Corporate Treasury and monitoring treasury forecasts.
Key accountabilities:
- Handle any issues escalated by the Back Office teams, when performing the daily controls over the dealing room trades and positions (deal confirmations with banks back offices, control of limits, of authorized counterparts…),
- Support decision making process over complex FX strategies, by assessing impact on financial KPIs,
- Maintain surveillance over changes in FX legal environment (i.e publication of new rates/references…) to guarantee Group compliance with all regulatory bodies and accompany changes when necessary,
- Review with Finance legal advisor and update the necessary intra-group legal documentation sustaining operations with central treasury,
- Act as guardian of the Group Hedge accounting processes (including performing controls over hedge accounting entries generated on behalf of subsidiaries), accompany changes towards Group accounting rules for any entity newly integrated,
- Draft training supports and deliver training as an internal trainer, for all FX modules included in the Alstom Finance Academy,
- Coordinate booking of complex treasury operations in both Treasury Systems and ERP,
- Control the monthly financial results of the in-house bank and for the consolidated Group accounts, perform analytical reviews for senior management monthly or ad-hoc basis,
- Coordinate and contribute to establishing the Treasury Three-Year-Plan for consolidated financial results and cash flows, together with Region and International Treasury,
- Assess best estimates during critical closing, enabling Treasury/FP&A and Finance Excom to monitor the end results,
- Stand as the main interface to external auditors in treasury matters and draft the notes to Group and statutory Financial Statements as far as financial indebtedness, financial result, derivatives and market risks are concerned,
- Coordinate the Treasury Monthly Report produced for the management
- Accompany proactively changes in processes and systems, in a continuous improvement approach in order to gain efficiency and secure a state-of-the-art control environment for Treasury operations (including drafting specifications in case of upgrades of the Treasury Management System, and performing required testing)
Skills requirements
- University Master Degree in Accounting, in Market or Corporate Finance, Business School /Engineer
- +3 years’ experience as a minimum in audit/ consulting firm and/ or corporate accounting and/ or corporate treasury controls.
- Accounting and / or treasury academic background, with proven track record in running and optimizing processes and systems, preferably in a corporate treasury or banking environment
- Foreign currency risk management or trading experience
- Fluent in English (verbal & written communication)
- Good Understanding of financial markets (derivatives, rating…) and mathematics (interest rates, discounting…)
- Interest for and knowledge of Information Systems and interfaces
- Ethics and rigor are keys to the position
- Excellent communication skills both oral and in-writing mainly internally and ability to convince and train beyond complexity
- Autonomous and creative, with willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement of the function to increase efficiency and maintain the highest level of internal control
