Alstom is recruiting a Team Manager for its Systems Performance Engineer Team in Paris Saint-Ouen.

 

You will join the Rolling Stock Team in Paris, an integrated team supporting the Group’s value creation by operationally delivering specific tenders and projects, as well as R&D and sustaining activities.

 

 The Paris team is leading the development of projects like Cologne tramway (Germany), electrical multiple unit trains for Denmark, passenger cars for the US (METRA), battery/electrical multiple unit trains for Ireland and more to come…

 

Your mission:

  • Manage the Systems Engineer team activities and workload
  • Drive the development of the team, about 10 engineers, supported by defined methodologies and tools
  • Supervise the deployment of Alstom Transport Quality Management System and corresponding Engineering instructions within the team,
  • Contribute to the Train System Métier continuous improvement in collaboration with the site Train System metier manager

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

Project and tender execution:

  • You make sure Alstom Transport/Engineering rules & processes are understood and applied inside the team
  • You ensure adequate team resources allocations according to the projects/programs/tenders of the Site
  • You support the team in the resolution of issues in particular those involving other stakeholders (internal or external) and assist them in the definition of priorities
  • You work proactively and challenge Train system studies performed by the team
  • You bring an overall view of Train systems and enhance their adequacy/consistency, compliance with the applicable instructions and guidelines
  • You report on the progress of team activities and alert the site metier manager in case of issue potentially impacting the achievement of the Quality Cost Delivery commitment

 

People management:

You manage the team development with the support of the Site Train System metier manager, with the global follow-up the People Management Cycle for the team

 

Continuous improvement:

You are a pro-active contributor to the improvement of the Train System metier rules and practices on the application of the Train System processes and on the forecast of the Site workload

 

What do you need to qualify for this job?

  • 5 years’ experience, in railway industry, working in an engineering department with a knowledge of train sub-system components, a solid experience in design & development and a strong mechanical & electrical background.
  • Experience in team management, with leadership skills, having already driven and developed technical teams in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Structured, organized with a hands-on approach to meet targeted objectives.
  • Fluent in English and French, you have excellent communication skills and team spirit
