The Train Performance Manager is responsible for ensuring train performance fulfils market / customer and regulatory requirements, in compliance with QCD objectives. Being the main focal point within the platform team for train performance topics, managing train level performance requirements & specifications, system architecture definitions and allocation of requirements to the Sub-System level..  


Key accountabilities:

- Act as main technical focal point for train performance topics within the platform, supporting development of technical strategy, system architecture development/definition/performance (traction, braking, Cyber Security, noise, thermal comfort etc)

- Ensure conversion of market / customer and regulatory requirements into train level requirements & specifications (including Service requirements): collect and analyse customer needs and requirements , perform operational analysis , develop a consistent set of train level requirements & specifications, complying with Alstom internal standards , perform functional analysis, specification, and architecture development in collaboration with Sub-systems Groups, esp. C&IS …

- Derive requirements & specifications at Subsystem level (including Services requirements):

- Ensure Reliability activities and report on the reliability risk management

- Train Reliability, Train Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), cybersecurity, validation and Engineering contribution to certification and authorization

- Ensure Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) activities

- In case of maintenance option, ensure that TCO is being optimised

- Ensure Train verification and validation

- Support engineering studies defining Train Performance in pre-tender and tendering phases.

- Support the Instantiation process when required

- Support technical open issues resolution, then ensure feedback of REX of the Performance problems identified in project development and warranty phase into the Platform Products.


Experience and Competencies

  • Engineering degree and/or Business School
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Train Performance and Electrical Systems experience


  • Able to analyse data, solve problems and make efficient decisions in a complex environment – be data driven
  • Pro-active - able to deliver on-time, on-quality and to cost (QCD)
  • Good working understanding of key business processes: Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Industrial, Sourcing, Quality and their interfaces…
  • Good communication skill (presentations, synthesis, relationship with contributors ...)


Location: France ( Paris/ St Ouen)  or UK (Derby)
