Selecting the best in cost and just enough performance design as well as monitoring the Train cost all along the design phases are key for Alstom to ensure its competitiveness in tender phase and during project execution. The Design to Cost Department mission is fully oriented towards these objectives.

 

 

Purpose of the job

As a member of the tender and projects teams, the Design to Cost Engineer is in charge of:

  • Representing, animating and monitoring the Design to Cost activities
  • Generating and following-up the cost of the train as well as establishing with the Tender / Project team the cost objectives to be achieved
  • Animating the generation, the evaluation and the implementation of a maximum optimizations on the train studied
  • Coordinating the Costing resources and all expertise needed to support the Design to Cost activities
  • Providing the Design to Cost deliverables in line with the Tender / Project deadlines

 

 

Organization

The position reports to the Design to Cost Manager of the site of Saint-Ouen.

 

The position will be located in France, Saint-Ouen (93) with some punctual travels to Alstom sites.

 

 

Expected skills:

  • Technical background (Master’s degree in Engineering expected)
  • Cost culture
  • Industrial processes knowledge and railway product knowledge would be appreciated
  • English speaker

 

 

Experience:

Mandatory: 5 years in Industry (ideally Railway Industry) or other Companies with product development stakes
