Position Overview :

Within the Central Rolling Stock Engineering Organisation, based in Paris, we are looking for a Technical Team Leader on toilets, in order to support  Saint-Ouen train projects, R&D and also improove our catalog.

The purpose of the job will be to manage the engineers of his team and the Metier network on site. He represents the key interface of the system he is responsible for. Hierarchially, the role reports to Technical Team Manager – Energy and Comfort and functionally, to Project/Sub-system manager during project duration.

Responsibilities include some of the following :

Competency & Métier network

Manages competencies of his team and on-site métier experts and

  • Define subsequent standard training paths and training programs for his team       
  • Issues training packages for his Sub-system  
  • Owns the Project Development Process (WBS) and all associated templates            
  • Builds the WBS yearly continuous improvement plan to more efficiency/reliability
  • Manages Métier network (Experts/Referents & SSEs - Local & Site)

 

Project Engineering

  • Reviews on regular basis the job performed by site to continue to force standardization
  • Ensures that standard key Project management /Design processes are applied within the TSS
  • Validates the technical purchase specifications if needed  Business Award & Engineering budget
  • Validates the connector and its gap analysis
  • Deploys and monitors the Design

                                               

Product Engineering

  • Is the overall owner of the catalogue
  • Defines the yearly R&D and Sustaining program & writes the R&D and Sustaining book       
  • Executes R&D and sustaining program.
  • Builds and creates the catalog for his subsystem
  • Manages and improves the competitiveness of the catalog products  with building the catalog roadmap
  • Build a standard documentation associated to the catalog products

 

As such, manages internal/external partnership with internal & external experts/labs and suppliers

Manages the complete activity linked to catalogue process /  catalog products  for his Sub-System (R&D and Sustaining Program)  

 

REX and Validation

 

  • Problems Solving; Informs weekly about the Top5 issues       
  • Supports customers problem solving technical issues
  • Manages the risk assessment and leads the reliability growth for TSS
  • As such ensures that best practices are identified & shared    
  • Shares the REX of his activities with the Métier network to improve métiers design process
  • Implement the REX into the catalog flow and process

 

Skills and Education: 

Essential : Graduated with an engineering degree and a strong experience (minimum 7 years) on product development and management positions is required. You demonstrate good communication and organizational skills (ability to meet deadlines). You come with prior knowledge on material and “best-in-class” toilet development. You are fluent in English and can communicate with ease. You are well-structured in problem investigation and problem solution.

The job will be located in Saint Ouen, France.
