Alstom has launched in December 2020 its PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) program named PLM4A.

It is an enterprise initiative that enables to create, update, and share the definition of a product, its associated industrial systems, support and services throughout its lifecycle (Design, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Removal), reduce development lead times, ensure innovation, support multi-functional collaboration between various métiers, multiple sites, internal and external, all over the world.

PLM is implemented through the 3DExperience, a software platform dedicated to Product Lifecycle Management, supporting the usage of standard processes associated with industry’s best practices.

 

With the aim on optimizing the development activity within the entire Alstom Engineering, we are looking for a PLM Engineer for the central RSC Digital Acceleration Team (Rolling Stock & Component). You will be in charge of supporting Engineering teams on several subjects including: Bill of Material management, Digital Mock-Up management, its associated transverse processes like Modification & Configuration management, plus Tubing, Electrical, Sheet Metal applications, and all training required for these diverse topics. In this position, you will play a key and strategic role in the PLM4A project, leading and executing an important part of the deployment of the PLM4A tools across multiple métiers and multiple sites, working in a very diverse and multi-national team.
 

In this role, you will:

  • Present the solution to the different sites and projects
  • Help the teams assess the impacts that deploying the PLM4A will have on their current processes
  • Provide trainings and functional support to the projects in which the PLM4A is being deployed
  • Participate in the writing and evolution of methodologies and training documentation (powerpoint, video, sharepoint, etc)
  • Animate the network of site Key Users to assess practices, share REX, converge on standardized ways of working, support solution implementation and ensure functional assistance
  • Drive the deployment of standard methodologies among sites
  • Be in constant contact with the solution/development teams to report evolutions needs
  • Constantly refresh your technical skills with the new evolutions that will be available continuously

 

 

You will be part of a multi-national, multi-cultural team implementing one of the biggest transformational programs that Alstom has ever put in motion.

You will interact with multiple stakeholders: Engineering métier teams worldwide to present the PLM4A, End Users from multiple projects during training sessions, Key Users on site to ramp up the Level-1 support, Solution Team to get up to date with new functional requirements that are delivered from time to time, Industrialization teams that consume Engineering data downstream and others.

 

Your profile

Competences

  • Good knowledge of Engineering, and integration of engineering processes like Detailed and Preliminary Design, BOM and Digital Mockup management
  • Good knowledge in Mechanical Design (Sheet Metal, Electrical and Tubing are appreciated)
  • Capacity to translate requirements in operational methodologies for tool usage
  • Good communication skills to interact with people from different cultures
  • Competence in giving trainings is highly appreciated
  • Good knowledge of PLM and CAD solutions and their associated technical constraints 
  • Fluent spoken English mandatory

 

Technical Experience

  • Operational experience in Engineering design office
  • 3D Experience 20x and higher
  • PLM and CAD operational experiences (ENOVIA, CATIA ...)
