We are looking for an apprentice for our European Purchasing Department. The European Regional Purchasing Coordinator reports to the Product Line Procurement Director.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Participation in calls for tender
  • Support in coordinating the competitiveness of tenders
  • Consolidation of external purchasing data from Participating Units and product lines (e.g. Services) involved in the tender, prior to validation by the Purchasing Manager.
  • Monitoring of purchasing performance in the context of tenders
  • Depending on the profile selected: representative of the Europe Region for one or more tenders on Procurement activities.

• Project support :           
  • Support in coordinating project competitiveness
  • Help in implementing and standardizing key performance indicators for critical projects
  • Identification and deployment of continuous improvement actions
  • Support data collection and consolidation at regional level to feed the Global Commodities purchasing strategy
  • Depending on profile: participation in specific "Make or Buy" case studies to improve competitiveness of tenders and projects.

• Other :
  • Take specific actions to improve purchasing maturity on sites in collaboration with the Procurement Continuous improvement Manager.
  • Depending on profile: be in charge of transversalizing specific competitiveness actions in the Region.
  • Effective teamwork with internal customers and all stakeholders (network to be developed with sites in Europe)
  • Apply the Alstom Procurement process and provide feedback
  • Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

PROFILE :

• Level of training:
  • Preparing a Bac+5 in Business School / Engineering School and Master in Purchasing
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Proficiency in another European language is a plus

• Experience :
  • At least one successful experience (internship, other) in purchasing or in an industrial environment
  • Experience abroad appreciated
  • Professional project oriented towards Purchasing

  • Good interpersonal skills (leadership, ability to convince)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Teamwork and autonomy
  • Proactivity and initiative
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment

Contract: Apprenticeship (1 year) starting January 2024
