Within Central Engineering dedicated to Rolling Stock & Component, in the Train Design Office Department, we are looking for a Passenger & Driver Seats Referent & Sub-System Engineer for Interiors (Glazing, Flooring & Seats).

 

Your mission:

    • Project & Tenders activities for the different Alstom Sites (Interiors – priorizing Passenger & Driver Seats scope)
    • Catalogue and Standard Solution activities (Passenger & Driver Seats)
    • Supplier Follow up (Passenger & Driver Seats)
    • Expertise and Supplier Technical Verification Authority (Passenger & Driver Seats)
    • R&D (Passenger & Driver Seats)
    • Alstom’s Referent for Standards (Passenger & Driver Seats)
       

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

 

Expertise and R&D

    • All Passenger & Driver Seats systems & installation Referent:
      • Definition of Standard Sol integration definition/ strategy inside TD métier
      • Leader to push the standard solution on all tenders/projects
      • Participation to new product development & to ensure the correct integration on Carbody
      • Supplier R&D follow up
      • Participation to 8D/ quality activities as Expert for integration for all Passenger & Driver Seats systems.
      • Participation to the Interiors Expert Network worldwide
      • Colaborating to other Expert Networks, such as ‘Perceived Quality & Comfort’
    • Interiors (glazing, flooring & seats) Engineer:
      • Support on the definition of Catalogue product / strategy in collaboration with Sourcing
      • Support to push the standard solution on all tenders/projects

 

Tender Phase

    • Ensure the correct definition, design, performances and integration of Passenger & Driver Seats (Supplier Design Verification Authority)
      • Analysis of customer requirements
      • Write the Connector/Short Technical Purchasing Specification, in collaboration with Train Design Engineer & the Bid Technical Manager
      • Drives the supplier technical proposals; Analysis of supplier’s offer together with Sourcing
      • Deliver of a Technical Assesment on the technical proposals to commit, including the correct integration of the system on Carbody
      • Deliver/Contribute to technical descriptions
      • Participate to Design Reviews with Subsystem Engineers, Train System Engineers & Train Design Engineers
    • Support to the rest of Interiors team for the SSE (subsystem engineer) in tendering activities for Glazing, Flooring & Seats.
       

Project Phase

 

    • Ensure the correct definition, design, performances and integration of Passenger & Driver Seats (Supplier Design Verification Authority):
      • Analysis of customer requirements
      • Write the Technical Purchasing Specification, in collaboration with the Train Design Engineer/Train Architec & the Project Engineer Manager/Chief Development
      • Drives the supplier technical proposals; Analysis of supplier’s offer together with Sourcing
      • Follow Supplier’s development or Co-development with Supplier
      • Prepare Design Review with suppliers & with Train Design Engineers
      • Ensure the quality of the deliverables
      • Manage the technical Sub-System product
      • Planning follow up
      • Participate to Design Reviews with Subsystem Engineers, Train System Engineers & Train Design Engineers
      • As Supplier Design Verification Authority: Participate and validate Gate Reviews with Subsystem Engineers & Train Design Engineers.
    • Support to the rest of Interiors team for the SSE (subsystem engineer) in project activities for Glazing, Flooring & Seats.
       
      MAIN CHALLENGES OF THE ROLE :
    • Maximize the change management to secure standardization of solution process
    • Being a Supplier Design Verification Authority for the Installation of all Passenger & Driver Seats systems
    • Align solution with business maturity model

 

PROFILE :  

  • Graduated with a master degree, preferably in mechanical, you have a strong expertise on railway interiors (minimum 5 years).
  • You demonstrate good communication and organizational skills (ability to meet deadlines). You are result oriented and show intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • Fluent in English, you are eager to work with autonomy in an international environment and to face the challenges of the new Alstom
