Purpose of our VP Media Relations & E-Reputation role

  • Overall responsibility for Media Relations, E-Reputation, Contents & Crisis Communication strategy, implementation and measurement
  • Define and implement Alstom strategy towards media (press and social media) to increase the consistency of the messages send to the outside and the visibility of the company worldwide.
  • Define and implement Alstom social media and Web strategy including management of corporate accounts, leaders and employee advocacy
  • Lead Crisis Communication at Alstom directly 

 

He/ She will report to the Chief Communication Office and oversee a team  (8-10 people)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for media strategy, crisis communication management including editorial content, processes, corporate media engagements and events, daily media clippings  
  • Leadership for press release, position statements, media briefs, media responses  
  • Leadership for agency and relevant service providers management
  • Leadership for media spokespersons definition and training
  • Responsibility for global media and social media monitoring process
  • Responsibility to oversee the deployment of Alstom’s communication strategy on the web and social media 
  • Accountable for media trips (Site tours, product launch, exhibitions) 
  • Accountable for media relations team including subject matter guidance, talent management and quality assurance 

 

For this role we are looking at a strong candidate able to show the following skills & competencies:

  • Graduated from a communication, journalism or business school
  • 15–20 years of experience in media relation, e-reputation and issues management in a similar industry or equivalent relevant work experience with CAC 40 listed corporation
  • Bilingual French/English oral and written.

 

Experience & competencies

  • Knowledge of media landscape, in particular management of information, crisis communications, image
  • Communications techniques are prerequisites (ie : build a communications policy , develop communication plans, produce press material & information tools, organize events, measure results…)
  • Proven Management skills in direct hierarchy and in transversal projects roles
  • Work in complex organisations
  • International experience in this field and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment
  • Ideally knowledge of the French media

Location: Our Paris' headquarters in St.Ouen  (2 days/week of working from home granted)
