Within Central Engineering, in the Train Design pre-engineering team, we are looking for a Lead Engineer about Mechanical Integration activities

 

Your mission:

  

You will be responsible for:

•    Coordinating Mechanical Domain contributors on Project.
•    Planning and piloting Mechanical Domain activities and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
•    Designing in 3D model the mechanical concept of one zone of train, 
•    Supplying for your team composed at maximum of 5/6 persons.
•    Applying Train Design rules, processes and tools (single-domain) and ensuring Mechanical Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
•    Managing production of deliverables in accordance with Planning targets on Mechanical Domain assigned workpackages.
•    Designing products taking into account project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.).
•    Reporting on Mechanical Domain activities progress, anticipating issues (capacity, skills, rule applicability, etc.) and alerting if needed.
•    Defining the allocating and mechanical interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipments  (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.)
•    Checking respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
•    Resolving Project Mechanical issues and  following challenging actions (single-domain)
•    Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Project Mechanical Domain scope.
•    Analyzing and consolidating change request impacts on Mechanical Domain scope
•    Producing Mechanical Domain deliverables (RSAD L2, Validation Plan, etc.) 
•    Preparing and documenting Mechanical Domain Design Reviews according to project schedule and following-up the main open actions.
•    Validating relevant Mechanical Domain deliverables and securing planning.
•    Verifying design via mock-ups or simulations. 

 

You will contributor for:

  • Proposing Design Optimizations ( simple design, cost, weight, labor time, etc.)
  • Supporting Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up
  • Collaborating with Mechanical Domain Leader for continuous improvement of the Metier (including RoE)

 

 

Your profile:

 

Knowledge & Experience

 

•    5 – 7 years of experience in Engineering Design. It would be a plus if in the railways.
•    Able to design in 3D Modelling of mechanical design concept independently since a white page, 
•    Strong technical background in mechanical, as mechanically welded structure, sheet metal, .
•    Stack-up analysis Drawing rules 
•    English basics in read/writing
•    Structured and organized with Hands-on approach

 

Diploma & Tools

 

  • Bac+5 minimum or equivalent
  • Catia v5 : Solid, Surfacic, Sheet Metal Work (SMW)
  • Digital Mock-up : DMA 2.2 or DMA 2.3 or equivalent (Smarteam, 3DCOM, etc.)
