The Saint-Ouen ETCS & Wayside Signalling Engineering Department is responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the engineering of the deployment and modification of signalling systems, mainly interlocking and ETCS for mainlines, and mainly for the National Rail Network.

 

Job Description:

Within a project engineering team in charge of adapting the generic solution to the national rail network, the system designer is in charge of:

  • the capture, as contributor, of the use cases, operational scenarios and expected behaviours;
  • the definition, as contributor, of the functions and the project architecture;
  • the definition and allocation of requirements, as contributor;
  • the coverage, allocation and definition of exported constraints, as contributor;
  • the studies for design selection and technical risk assessment, as contributor;
  • the studies for obsolescence management, as contributor;
  • the technical synchronisation of one or several subsystems, as contributor and privileged system interface.

He/she works in close collaboration with the various business lines involved in the project, including the teams for system verification and validation, operational safety, cybersecurity and deployment engineering.

He/she provides all the necessary support for the technical pilot (PrEM) of the project, especially in the analysis of specific needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Write system documentation, including drawings, specifications and other technical documents;
  • Understand and apply system engineering processes;
  • Ensure that the system technically meets the expressed needs and defined evolutions, and that an appropriate system engineering approach is adopted;
  • Ensure technical consistency with other project engineering teams throughout development, with other system engineers, business engineers; In particular, provide support for integration, verification and validation activities and FDMS;
  • Take into account the integration feedback, verification and validation on the design;
  • Minimize system deployment costs, schedule and risks by design;
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of system baselines, analyse and implement change requests;
  • Prepare and participate in design reviews;
  • Support configuration management, requirements management activities;
  • Ensure that the system follows a standardisation approach, reusing existing solutions, implementing reusable solutions, providing an effective deployment kit (tools, user documentation, etc.);
  • Provide support to external stakeholders (customer, users, offerings, etc.) and participate in QCD estimates;
  • Contribute transversally to the continuous improvement of the department (feedback, etc.) and innovation processes;
  • Provide informed advice to the project PrEM on the development strategy.

 

Profile:

Trained in engineering (BAC+5), you have at least 4 years of experience in complex systems engineering, in the field of rail signalling.
Fluency in English is required,
Autonomy, rigour, good adaptability and communication skills are your assets to succeed in this position.
The position is based in Saint-Ouen (93).

Occasional trips are possible.
