The Train Design Department of Rolling Stock & Components Paris Saint-Ouen is looking for a Hydrogen Train Design Engineer!

 

Purpose of the Job

  • Ensuring production of all deliverables for the integration of the Hydrogen system in the train (storage, transport, control, final use) in accordance with hydrogen domain best practices.
  • Coordinate various designers working on hydrogen solutions integration for projects and tenders.

 

Responsible for:

  • Define and pre-dimension hydrogen solutions integration with Train Design team
  • Ensuring resolution of hydrogen integration issues (mechanical, pneumatics, piping, airflow)
  • Participate to definition of hydrogen integration rules (Fixations, Connections, …)
  • Allocating requirements and interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipment (Allocated volume, weight, location, etc.)
  • Define Hydrogen product catalogue (type of connection and piping, flexibles, joints, …)
  • Coordinate various designers on the projects and tenders involving hydrogen solutions
  • Monitor, control and consolidate the Hydrogen Train Design working group on 3D modelling activities
  • Produce and analyze high level design deliverables (datasheets, calculation notes, specifications, validation program, etc.)
  • Report on progress of design activities, anticipate issues (ability, skills, rule applicability, etc.) and alert as required.
  • Ensure technological watch and maintain your area of expertise


Contributor for :

  • Participate to the architecture of the hydrogen system considering weight, installation strategy, acoustics, product fire constraints, thermal dissipation strategy
  • Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
  • Collaborating with the Engineering department manager for continuous improvement of the best practices (including return of experience)
  • Discussion with hydrogen system suppliers and challenge them when necessary
  • Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Hydrogen scope


Your profile

  • Mechanical engineering with mastery of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics with +2 years of experience in integrating hydrogen solution.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrogen solutions integration (tanks, pipes, sensors) and related standards (H2, ATEX, ESP)
  • Knowledge of Catia V5 for modeling and virtual mock-up solution for managing digital models (DMA, Enovia, ...)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, including working with third parties (customers, suppliers).
  • Time management and reporting skills.
  • Sense of urgency / priority.
  • Structured and organized with a practical approach.
  • Operational English in reading/writing and technical meetings
