As a Global Procurement Domain Director, you act as a global entrepreneur for your commodities and lead a global team of Commodity Managers, defining and deploying the global strategy, accountable for the annual commodity performance, driving strategic procurement initiatives and ensuring operational excellence. You will shape supplier relationships, optimize procurement strategies, and represent Procurement at the highest decision-making levels.

 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies cross-regions
  • Lead and manage a team of Commodity Managers
  • Drive global commodity performance, including QCD & full risk assessment and ensure alignment with Alstom’s procurement procedures
  • Support high-stakes negotiations and award new business within the supplier panel 
  • Ensure transformation, consolidation and performance of the supplier panel for resilience and competitiveness with Total Cost of Ownership mind-set
  • Manage supplier relationships, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
  • Represent Procurement in strategic decision-making and tender processes
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments
  • Develop market intelligence related to your commodity

 

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or Purchasing
  • 10–15 years of leadership experience managing multicultural teams
  • Railway industry knowledge and a deep understanding of procurement processes
  • Proven operational drive with the ability to execute and deliver results
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • High level of agility to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • A positive attitude and resilience in the face of challenges
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Clear and structured communication skills in English
  • A people-focused leadership style that fosters collaboration and development

 

Performance Indicators

  • Cost savings and budget adherence
  • Supplier performance (On-Time Delivery, Non-Conformities, risk mitigations)
  • Successful audits and process compliance
