Within our Alstom Digital Mobility (ADM) activities, based in Saint-Ouen, Fluence team is developing the latest innovative Signalling System solution for Urban application. Already under deployment in Lille Metro, Fluence Solution is also expanding to new markets worldwide.

Purpose of the Job

Support the Development & Deployment Authority Manager on definition and improvement of process related to the Fluence Solution development and deployment.

As such, Method Engineer is in charge of method and process capture, optimisation and detail design of them:

  • Interface with project engineering teams to understand their deployment constraints, and to identify deployment optimisation through a method and process point of view,
  • Interface with system, subsystems, software development teams to understand their development constraints, and to identify development optimisation through a method and process point of view,
  • Interface with Verification & Validation teams, Safety teams, Cybersecurity teams to understand their constraints, and to identify optimisation through a method and process point of view.

Method Engineer contributes to defining the next steps of development and deployment method and process of our Signalling Solution for future applications, in consistency with platform reuse strategy and market needs.

Organisational Reporting

Method Engineer reports to the Fluence Development & Deployment Authority Manager.

Detailed Responsibilities and Tasks

As a Method Engineer, you will:

  • Implement the process documents,
  • Implement the work method statements,
  • Implement or contribute to the requirement for proposal for tools used for development and deployment,
  • Contribute to the reference library updates and representability,
  • Contribute to the REX of the current applied process and method,
  • Contribute to gather REX on other solutions and project engineering to improve processes and methods on Fluence Solution,
  • Contribute to the configuration activities, the requirement management activities and the change request management activities related to process documents and the work method statements,
  • Understand and apply global processes and work method statements allocated to Fluence Solution at central level,
  • Ensure that the defined and applied processes and methods fulfil needs and enhancements,
  • Minimize, through process and method, the Fluence Solution development and deployment cost, lead time and risk,
  • Prepare and participate to process reviews,
  • Contribute to continuous improvement.

Education and Skills

To fill this position, we are looking for the following profile:

  • Mandatory education level: Master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent College degree (specialization in a field related to Railway Transportation Systems is a plus),
  • Experience level: No minimum mandatory experience, 2 years of experience or more in similar activities in Transport sector is a plus,
  • Strong problem-solving skills: logical and analytical approach, with a creative mind, capable of synthesizing issues and making reasoned decisions, as well as leading technical topics autonomously,
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: team player, open and motivated by multicultural environments,
  • Speaking and writing English fluently is mandatory, good knowledge of French is required.
