POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION

ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES
Key accountabilities
In terms of expertise and responsibilities, the position aims at supporting the Chief Compliance Officer in the enforcement of the company compliance program and the legal support to investigations, in particular:

•    Internal monitoring and self-policing of the compliance program, including definition of processes and procedures towards promoting enforcement, detecting irregularities, and managing disciplinary measures in a fair and consistent manner
•    Cooperation with and oversight of the investigation team in case of internal enquiries into violations of 
the company compliance program
•    Central legal coordination and overview of enquiries or investigations by judicial or administrative authorities, including international financial institutions, linked to E&C matters
•    Support on requests for information and investigations by public authorities
•    Management of the Alstom Alert Procedure
•    Feedback loop and experience return for purposes of risk-based reviews of E&C policies and other E&C risk assessment measures
•    Representation of the company towards third parties, including customers and business partners, where needs arise to present the company compliance program to these third parties with a focus on the way the company organizes

enforcement and discipline of its compliance program
•    Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Also, depending on the evolution of the structure of the E&C department, the assessment of workload and combination of expertise within the E&C team, as well as the review by the Chief Compliance Officer of tasks efficiency allocations, the candidate needs to be prepared and willing to support in other related areas in the field of E&C such as, but not limited to, contributing as trainer to internal E&C training sessions.

 

Educational Requirements
Mandatory
•    Graduate Law degree or equivalent in your home jurisdiction and/or a degree in a related field well-suited for E&C matters (e.g., forensic investigations, audit).

Mandatory: 
•    Given the strong interaction between E&C matters and legal matters, as well as the required involvement in E&C judicial proceedings and litigation, a Bar membership certification and/or some general awareness of criminal law and criminal proceedings is a plus for this position
•    Also, in view of the international nature of the company's activities, previous positions in an international business environment would be a good supplement 
•    10 years+ of experience in a professional field in law field
•    Solid experience in legal and regulatory matters
•    Similar experience in an international business
•    Excellent English language skills.

Desirable:
•    Awareness of data privacy regulations is a plus for this position
