In the Digital Transformation Department, Enterprise Data team is working closely with all Functions (transformation programs, function methods and tools...) and Regions to:

  • Be responsible for the entire enterprise data landscape on the full data lifecycle covering business requirements & specifications, functional governance and technical platforms.
  • Guide the organization to create value from enterprise data by improving data operations, data quality, as well as the business understanding of the data through data culture & literacy program.
  • Provide and support the technologies needed to collect, store, access and propagate the data to ensure they support the enterprise's objectives around data usage and governance.
  • Be in charge of getting the most from all our data assets to reach better decisions through efficient data architecture, design, delivery and run of the data platforms, as well as programs for the deployment of business applications.

 

Within Enterprise Data, Business Data department mission is to get the most business value from our data assets:

  • Ensure alignment between business needs, solution design, and data standards and policies
  • Coordinate métiers and functions to ensure requirements coverage by the deployed data solutions
  • Understand data with business analysis, data modeling, data mapping & functional knowledge
  • Ability to explain business use cases with data storytelling
  • Ensure end to end data consistency with detection, correction, as well as prevention
  • Deliver data quality score card to monitor continuous data improvement in collaboration with data owners
  • Define good data practices and ensure their application by data owners
  • Manage data creations, updates and validation with associated standard operational procedures
  • Ensure compliance with defined processes in accordance with guidance from Data Owner/BPOs
  • Centralize Data Codification, Increase Data Quality, Improve end to end consistency
  • Enforce data management process (architecture, ownership, quality, access & protection...)
  • Collect data management best practice and complete benchmarks 

 

Alstom is now looking for a Data Governance Domain Lead, to integrate the team dedicated to Enterprise Data to consolidate data governance framework and coordinate action plans with Alstom data owners.  

 

Purpose of the role

 

Reporting to the Head of Business Data, and working closely with other Digital Transformation Teams, Methods and Tools departments, Regions and Sites, you will contribute to:

  • Sustain and coordinate data governance (Master Data, Transactional Data, KPI…)
  • Setup and manage a transversal promotion program for Alstom sites on existing data use cases
  • Measure real usage of data on sites and collect best practices to promote a better decision-making leveraging data
  • Monitor and enhance global data processes and good practices to optimize adoption of solutions and efficiency of business processes consuming data
  • Ensure the alignment with data management applicable rules in major trasformation programs and applications deployment
  • Identify internal expertise and setup plan to develop data competencies and promote cross fertilization

 

Responsibilities

As a Data Governance Domain Lead, you will:

  • Collect good data practices by consolidating practices (community management animation, knowledge management tools, learning capabilities…) from Business Process Owners, data owners, data communities, region and sites.
  • Monitor the business value delievered from data and secure the alignment between priorities & roadmaps for tools, processes and rules on data with business strategy
  • Challenge the status quo through continuous improvement approach, improve maturity to get more value from data
  • Promote good data practices usage across the organisation and ensure availability, maintenance and accessibility of all documentation and supports describing data management processes and rules, in collaboration with Data Culture & Literacy team.
  • Support teams in charge of technical platform (Master Data, Data Hub and Data Propagation) with relevant business requirements, priorities based on business value and involvement of main stakeholders
  • Promote agility by testing new ways of spreading the data knowledge and engaging with the teams and by measuring the effectiveness of adoption efforts
  • Collaborate with transformation programs in place to capture priorities, contribute actively to design new data adoption programs in Project Execution domain to spread efficiently process and tools, measure usage and efficiency of changes from these new data adoption programs

 

The role may require the holder to:

  • Travel nationally and/or internationally in accordance with the needs of the business.
  • Carry out other ad hoc activities in order to help achieve business objectives

 

Educational Requirements, Knowledge, Experience & Technical skills

  •  A degree or higher in engineering, technology or related field, you have a deep knowledge and understanding of end to end data processes (minimum of 5 years’ experience in the concerned domain).
  • You demonstrate good communication skills as well as influencing and negotiating skills. You have the ability to deliver training, facilitate workshops, understand and produce business process flow diagrams. You are result oriented and show intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • Strong business focus, ability to operate at prime contact level with senior managers.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering customer satisfaction improvements.
  • Fluent in French and in English, you are eager to work with autonomy in an international environment and to face the challenges of the new Alstom.
