Within Electrical and Propulsion Procurement Domain, reporting to the Wheelset & Bearings commodity manager, you will be focused on bogie strategic components and sub-assemblies.

 

Commodity Leader is positioned at the interface between Alstoms product / project teams and the suppliers that supply core component technologies. He will develop and execute sourcing strategies, as well as recommend product innovations.

The position requires an interest in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation.

 

In your role your main responsabilities are :

  • Collaborate across the global Alstom organization to ensure business objectives are met from tenders to projects in strict compliance with procurement processes.
  • Contribute to build and drive comprehensive strategy in close coordination with Product lines and Regions to deliver lower costs, risk mitigation, higher quality parts the first time and secure delivery on time to the needs of the business.
  • Optimize procurement performance through cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence and drive procurement decisions.
  • Support commodity management
    • Represent commodity
    • Consolidate commodity needs, inputs
    • Build and propose differentiation for AT through supplier innovation
    • Participate actively to commodity strategy and panel elaboration 
    • Define a strategy for specific segment according to delegation
    • Ensure effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
    • Apply the Alstom Procurement process and provide return on experience.
    • Build Procurement Tender commitment
  • Monitor Buyer activity on specific segment
    • Operational procurement responsibility on negotiation, cross sites/PLs bundling
    • Lead Saving Plan by leveraging Design to Cost, LCC, Volumes … (All savings levers)
  • Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

    • Non-Conformities Report and On Time Delivery
    • FAI on time 
    • Panel situation Supplier compliancy status rate 

 

Profile

The candidate should comply with the followings:

  • Educational requirements: Business school or Engineering degree preferably supported with a master degree in Purchasing
  • Technical Knowledge / Experience
    • Fluent in French and in English
    • Minimum of 5 years working experience in internaltional matricial purchasing organization
    • 5 to 10 years of experience in Industry
    • Technical and strong market knowledge of the commodity 
  • Behavioral and Technical Skills / Competencies
    • Proven track record of leading sourcing, purchasing, negotiation
    • Strong analytical skills with ability synthesize data and make recommendations
    • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
