Within Alstom's Procurement department, in the D&IS (Digital & Integrated System) field, we are looking for a Commodity Leader.

Commodity Leader is positioned at the interface between Alstoms product / project teams and the suppliers of core component technologies. He/she will develop and execute sourcing strategies, as well as recommend product innovations.


The position requires an interest in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes and risk mitigation.

You will be part of the Commodity Signaling Trackside Products (switch motors, axle counters, level crossing, signals, signal relays, shelters...) on signaling equipment projects on tracks.

And you will work on the following missions:

  • Strong involvement and implementation of commodities strategy
  • Manage global supplier panel relationship 
  • Responsible for the commodity Quality Cost Delivery & Technical (QCDT) and legal supplier performance management
  • Operational procurement responsibility on negotiation, cross sites/businesses bundling
  • Animate Saving Plan


Your profile:

  • Educational requirements: Business school or Engineering degree preferably supported with a master degree in Purchasing
  • Technical Knowledge / Experience
    • Fluent in English
    • Minimum of 5 years working experience in internaltional matricial purchasing organization
    • Strong interest in Technical and market knowledge of the commodity 
  • Behavioral and Technical Skills / Competencies
    • Proven track record of leading sourcing, purchasing, negotiation
    • Strong analytical skills with ability synthesize data and make recommendations
    • Strong interpersonal skills (leadership, communication, ability to convince)
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to effectively handle multiple and competing priorities
    • Fluent in English with international mindset
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other functions
