As a part of the C-Class Global Commodity team (>250M€ annual purchases) within the Metallics Domain and with direct report to the Commodity Manager - General Distribution, this role involves the sourcing of C-Class components and vendor managed inventory services to support worldwide Alstom locations The successful applicant will manage numerous internal and external stakeholders to support the transformation and execution of the globally coordinated C-Class strategy. This role will be the first point of contact in the global C-Class team for the assigned sites and/or regions, ensuring the execution of the C-Class strategy at a regional level in addition to providing dedicated commodity support for the Fastenings commodity. 


Key Accountabilities 


Based on the assigned sites/clusters/regions:


Supplier relationship:

  • Liase with global supplier account contacts as a representative of the global C-Class team
  • Ensure global QCDT targets achievement, CONQ** & claims management for the global suppliers in charge
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
  • Ensure C-Class Supplier Performance KPIs are monitored and targets achieved (incld. Savings, C-Class Supply Chain KPIs, and any other applicable metrics)


Operational involvement:

  • In charge of Buyer activity on specific segment - develop the orgnaization to increase awareness and maturity of the C-Class buyer network
  • Act as first point of contact to support site C-Class network on the standard way of working and C-Class processes
  • Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
  • Operational sourcing responsibility on negotiation, cross sites/PLs bundling
  • Lead Saving Plan by leveraging Design to Cost, LCC, Volumes
  • Monitor site RFQ's and supplier changeovers, including support for business case creation and evaluation as part of the C-Class TCO strategy
  • Support sites and regions to providing Sourcing Tender commitment
  • Liase with buyers network to monitor and manage progress on procurement objectives as they relate to C-Class (e.g. savings, BCC, Supplier Reduction, Sustainability, E&C, Panel Compliance, etc.)


Based on the assigned market codes:


Commodity support:

  • Commodity representative for specific market codes (transversal topics)
  • Consolidation of commodity needs, inputs
  • Strong impute to build differentiation for AT through supplier innovation
  • Active participation to commodity strategy and panel elaboration
  • According to delegation, define a strategy for specific segment
  • Apply the Alstom Transport Sourcing process and provide return on experience.
  • Complete detailed analysis and/or reporting of global C-Class data to further refine the savings plan, process efficiencies and the global strategy 




  • Experience between 5 to 10 years in Industry
  • Fluent English & International background
  • Minimum of three years working experience in purchasing
  • Technical and strong market knowledge of the commodity



  • Understanding of supply chain and logistics concepts as they relate to C-Class and vendor managed inventory
