Could you be the full-time Climatic Comfort Mechanical Engineer in St Ouen in France we’re looking for?
Your future role:
Take on a new challenge and apply your Design and climatic comfort expertise in defining the solutions at car level with innovative approach. You’ll report to Maria Isabel RODRIGUEZ GOMEZ (Train Design Product Standardization Manager), and work alongside inclusive and multicultural teammates and collaborate with Train Design community.
You'll work with Train Design Office and AeroX teams to develop climatic comfort standard solutions and develop wind tunnel models for scale down testing. Develop and Optimize designs to meet aerodynamics performances.
You'll reinforce the Right First Time pass climatic comfort culture inside Alstom global sites. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the rolling stock business (high-speed, tram, metro, regional, …), provide expert answers and guide towards optimization.
We’ll look to you to:
• To lead Climatic Comfort design activities related to Train Design activities in CATIA, Aerodynamics & Transversal disciplines
• To define process, tools & RACI for climatic comfort activities; including coef K analysis & HVAC airduct Mock-up
• To Lead & Participate to the Climatic Comfort Network worldwide
• Support Project & Tender activities for different Alstom Sites in the area of Train Design Climatic Comfort
• Participate to new product development (subsystems impacted) to ensure the correct integration on Carbody and on climatic comfort strategy

• Graduated with a master degree, Mechanical Engineering, you have a strong expertise on railway Design/Thermal/Fluids- AeroX/CFD/HVAC/Vehicle architecture (minimum 5 to 10 years).
• Familiar with the tools like CATIA, THERM, Hypermesh, Star CCM+, FLUENT, DYMOLA
• Familiar with climate comfort load calculations and HVAC architecture and design principles
• Familiar with duct design principles and strategies as per the thermal comfort needs of a particular project
• Good understanding on the role of system/sub-system on climate comfort performance with good trade-off skills
• Good understanding of cost models of HVAC, ducting, glazing, floors that participate in the climate comfort
• Understanding of various testing conditions and impact on Aerodynamics and thermal performance
• You demonstrate good communication and organizational skills (ability to meet deadlines). You are result oriented and show intellectual curiosity and creativity.
• Fluent in English, you are eager to work with autonomy in an international environment and to face the challenges of the new Alstom
• Proactivity, attention to details, care attitudes are important. Good Communications and interpersonal skills.
• Conflict Management and multitasking. Customer Focus / Management skills.
