In the Transformation Department, Methods & Tools is working closely with all Functions (transformation programs, function methods and tools...) and Regions to:

  • Coordinate transformation programs by challenging dependencies and interfaces among programs, end to end process vision and global transformation capacity management.
  • Orchestrate the Configuration and Change Management process across all functions
  • Support all transformations to accelerate and secure adoption by adapting to maturity level, by sharing and developing best practices and by enforcing solution adoption KPIs
  • Manage data governance (including MDM) to maximize the usage of data to take decisions efficiently
  • Manage and enforce content management best practices across the organization

 

Within Methods & Tools, Data management department mission is to get the most from our data assets to reach better decisions:

  • Ensure that data is consistent leveraging the right governance
    • Enforce data management process (data architecture, data owner, data quality, data access & protection.)
    • Enforce collaboration across the organisation on data cross fertilization
    • Collect data management best practice and complete benchmarks
    • Collaborate to data technology roadmap
  • Ensure we leverage data across the organisation by developing data literacy and promoting existing data solutions
    • Manage data literacy program in particular on Alstom sites (available data within Alstom, algorithm culture, data to actions...)
    • Promote data cross fertilization across the organisation
    • Promote internal data marketplace including data lake usage
  • Manage directly some operations on data management
    • Deliver data quality score card
    • Manage MDM factory

Alstom is now looking for a Business Data Coordinator, to integrate the team dedicated to Data Management to consolidate data governance framework and coordinate action plans with Alstom data owners.  

 

Purpose of the role

 

Reporting to the Master Data Manager, and working closely with other Transformation Teams, Methods and Tools departments, Regions and Sites, you will contribute to:

  • Sustain and coordinate data governance (Master Data, Transactional Data, KPI…)
  • Setup and manage a transversal promotion program for Alstom sites on existing data use cases
  • Measure real usage of data on sites and collect best practices to promote a better decision-making leveraging data
  • Measure data quality and impact on business processes efficiency
  • Monitor and enhance global data organization and good practices to optimize adoption of solutions (process and tools)
  • Identify internal expertise and setup plan to develop data competencies and promote cross fertilization

 

Responsibilities

 

As a business data coordinator, you will:

  • Collect good data practices by consolidating practices (community management animation, knowledge management tools, learning capabilities…) from all methods and tools departments, data communities, region and sites.
  • Use data to help Alstom make more effective business decisions or gather and analyse data for the business to evaluate and use data to make decisions on their own
  • Develop data literacy to challenge the status quo, improve maturity to get more value from data
  • Promote good data practices usage across the organisation to facilitate change at central, region and site level by selecting the right change management approach that will maximise the success of data solution adoption, by consolidating Methods & Tools expertise and finding ways to spread data knowledge in the best comprehensive way, by leveraging on community management across the organisation, by promoting data knowledge management wherever possible.
  • Acquire data from data sources, interpret data and analyse results to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions and action plans
  • Promote agility by testing new ways of spreading the data knowledge and engaging with the teams and by measuring the effectiveness of adoption efforts
  • Collaborate with transformation programs in place to capture priorities, contribute actively to design new data adoption programs in Project Execution domain to spread efficiently process and tools, measure usage and efficiency of changes from these new data adoption programs

 

The role may require the holder to:

    • Travel nationally and/or internationally in accordance with the needs of the business.
    • Carry out other ad hoc activities in order to help achieve business objectives

Educational Requirements, Knowledge, Experience & Technical skills

 

 A degree or higher in engineering, technology or related field, you have a deep knowledge and understanding of end to end data processes (minimum of 5 years’ experience in the concerned domain).

You demonstrate good communication skills as well as influencing and negotiating skills. You have the ability to deliver training, facilitate workshops, understand and produce business process flow diagrams. You are result oriented and show intellectual curiosity and creativity.

Strong business focus, ability to operate at prime contact level with senior managers.

Demonstrable experience of delivering customer satisfaction improvements.

Fluent in English, you are eager to work with autonomy in an international environment and to face the challenges of the new Alstom.
