  • Design scalable solutions compatible with high-voltage traction battery systems (800 V) & auxiliary battery solution
  • Define communication architectures & interface with train (CAN, Ethernet / TRDP)

Core BMS Functions

  • Architect algorithms and embedded software for State of Charge (SoC) estimation, State of Health (SoH) and diagnostics,State of Power (SoP), Cell balancing strategies
  • Contribute to define battery control strategies

Safety, Cybersecurity & Standard compliance

  • EN 50716 (railway software), EN 50129 (safety-related electronic systems), EN 45545 (fire protection)
  • Contribute to system safety case and certification dossiers (ISA, NoBo/DeBo context)
  • Apply functional safety principles aligned with IEC 61508 & ISO 26262 (when relevant for cross-domain reuse)
  • Define fault handling strategies ensuring fail-safe / fail-operational behavior
  • Implement fault detection, fallback strategies and safe states
  • Contribute to cybersecurity concepts

System Integration

  • Interface with BMS hardware teams & Battery systems teams and with Train Control & Monitoring System (TCMS)
  • Support integration of BMS into Auxiliary & Traction battery and fast-charging systems
