Purpose of the Job


The BIM Information Manager is a procedural gate-keeper, policing the CDE (Projectwise) to ensure that it follows the agreed protocol and that the data are secure. He/She establishes the information structure and standards for the information model, validates compliance and enables the integration of information by project teams and co-ordination of information by the design leads. He/She also supports the BIM management team in the administration of the CDE platform and the associated tools.

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

  • BIM Reference Solution efficiency and compliance with Documentation management processes.

Performance of the information management in line with the Employers’ Information Requirements and with Alstom requirements.





  • Contributes to the definition and implementation of the architecture and maintenance of the CDE Platform for information management.
  • Transposes and updates Alstom CDE processes and procedures in Projectwise for the projects, validates compliance between them and advises on non-compliance.
  • Collates information inputs provided by stakeholders into the common data environment (CDE) during design development
  • Manages the exchanges of BIM Information between the various stakeholders via the CDE.
  • Manages the validation and approval structure of BIM information between stakeholders in the CDE and performs archiving at key stages
  • Pro-actively interact with Alstom teams when relevant information are received or need to be issued for approval and coordination purposes.
  • Closely works with all stakeholders to ensure deliverables are issued and received according to an agreed baseline program / deadlines.
  • Ensures that all data are filled-in and issued according to the rules and processes
  • Ensures all issued information has the correct codification and metadata as per the rules


Job Specifications

Knowledge & Experience :

  • Bachelors in Architecture or similar construction sciences preferred. Bachelors in IT and management with relevant experience are also acceptable.
  • Must have In-depth working knowledge of Projectwise as well as basic experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.
  • Familiarity with Revit, AECOSim, Navigator, NavisWorks, Aconex and Mezzoteam is appreciated to ensure adequate communication with project teams
  • Must have a 5 year experience in BIM/Doc control management and knowledge of data bases management
  • Must have Knowledge of mechanical design (Trackworks, Power supply/catenary, Civil work experience is appreciated).
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to adapt to complex project organization.
  • Proactive coordination capabilities.
