BIM central development coordinator

Purpose of the Job

The BIM central development coordinator is in charge of coordinating definition and development tasks in the frame of the complete Alstom Standard BIM solution elaborated for Alstom worldwide organization.  This task includes the continuous technological watch of the BIM-related market and the assessment / benchmark of all solutions and improvements arising. Through his/her position, the BIM central development coordinator is also in charge of the development of training means and media to be used for deploying the BIM Reference Solution throughout the whole company.

Missions

Responsibilities

Technical missions:

  • Participate in the definition of Alstom BIM Standards and processes / tools throughout Alstom organization:
    • Ensure continuous improvement of Alstom BIM environment (including processes, workflows, functions, technologies, tools, and resources training),
    • Develop procedures to add BIM functions to Alstom Ref sol and facilitate sharing of BIM content (plan, procedures, guidelines, BIM Objects libraries, templates, documentation, user manuals…)
    • Continuously improve and update the Alstom BIM Standard documentation
    • operational validation of the solutions and processes defined at BIM Program level
    • Takes charge of the technical validation and approval of tools and S/W evolutions
    • participates in the formalization of the BIM methodologies and in the elaboration of users guides
    • Participate to developing adherence of business units to the One Alstom BIM standards and processes,
    • Coordinate with core business units and IS&T to improve Alstom Reference solution as well as to identify internal or external resources for supporting Alstom BIM activities (outsourcing, technical support, Software development),
    • Participate in technical discussions with all technical BIM stakeholders within Alstom and potentially outside
    • Support the BIM Director

QCD and Reporting:

  • Performs and analyses the REX on the usage of Alstom BIM Reference Solution and makes suggestions for improvements
  • Keeps up to date the Alstom BIM Standards and reference solution,
  • Contributes to the enforcement of good BIM practices throughout Alstom organization,
  • Animates the BIM Key Users Network (worldwide)

 

Job Specifications

Knowledge & Experience :

  • Must have In-depth working knowledge of BIM applications (ProjectWise, Navisworks, Revit, AECOsim Building Designer, Navigator, Solibri, Power Rail Track, Synchro, ArcGIS, BIMtrack, BIM 360 and ACC…)
  • Must have Knowledge of industry, railway systems and subsystems
  • Must have Knowledge of civil works, track or electrical design
  • Must have 5+ years of production experience in design /engineering or construction (Project experience appreciated),
  • Ideally an experience in digital transformation elaboration and implementation would be appreciated,
  • Must be proactive and eager to develop and promote new functions, processes, ways of working, tools and ideas
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a collaborative environment as well as independently,
  • Possess Excellent communications skills both written and oral (training experience appreciated)
  • Possess Excellent organisational skills,
  • Ability to adapt to complex project organisations and contexts.

Fluent in English (French is a plus)
