Purpose of the Job

 

In the continuity of existing internships,  the Industrial Engineer Apprentice for Manufacturing Robots is responsible to foster the standardization of the Robotic application solutions for Alstom train manufacturing processes and improve the performance/usage of robots.

 

 The Standardization of Automation & Robotic solutions is the result of a technical and economical evaluation of the different alternatives, requiring to deeply assess the advantages/disadvantages of each potential technology for all the application domains (welding robot, automated tools, AGVs, etc..).

 

Each standard & solution needs to be documented and published among all the industrial and engineering population through SharePoint/MES document database.

 

Functionally reporting to the program manager of the Automation Program, he/she will ensure to coordinate the internal/external experts and manufacturing sites mandated to work out the above standardization objectives.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

Closely working within a broad network (Industrial Ops & Performance), he/she will be in charge of :

1-          Solution Standardization

  •  Develop the documentation of new standard solutions
  •   Organize and collect the return of experience of robotics projects, then share the information over the internal database
  • Maintain the reference of all the existing machines (function, purposes, location)
  • Guide the sites to consult and use the Reference Library

 

2-          Robots usage improvements

  • Develop a methodology to track the usage of each robot and work with the production/methods/engineering métiers to increase usage
  • Participate to Design for Automation initiatives in order to robotize more parts & increase robotic saturation
  • Regularly review the performances (usage) of the existing machines with sites representatives
  • Develop, jointly with Industrial IT, the best interface/solution to collect usage data (PLC, TeepTrak, IOT ..)
  • Keep the assets inventory updated

 

Profile

 

•             Currently following Industrial Engineering master’s degree education or a bachelor in mechanical engineering, with an academic background on Mechanical/Industrial Engineering

•             Able to work on 3D industrial designing on CATIA ( or other 3D SW )

•             Looking for a 24/36 months apprenticeship

•             Able to foster communications between multiple stakeholders (process expert, external engineers, industrial functions, finance…)

•             Able to work across sites/functions in a multi-cultural environment

•             Team spirit approach and good communication skills

•             English fluent
