Purpose of the Job

 

The Automation Reference Library Apprentice Engineer is responsible to support the acceleration of the deployment of automation processes for train manufacturing, with a specific mission of shaping the Automation Reference Library : documenting the existing solution and/or tohe ones be deployed in the manufacturing processes.

Functionally reporting to the program manager of the Automation Program, he/she will ensure to structure the inventory of the Automation solution for all the manufacturing processes. The mission covers the documentation of mature/proven solutions from technical and economical standpoint.

Other tasks consisting also to investigate new Automation solutions jointly with the industrial networks and to evaluate the feasibility through pre-studies or laboratory tests ( Proof of concept) that can be performed with in-house Le Creusot robot cell or external laboratories.

 

Main Responsibility

 

Closely working within a broad network (Industrial Ops & Performance) he/she will be in charge for the automation solutions to:

    • Collect the data of exisiting automation solution  (Specification, Supplier offer) and populate the Reference Library
    • Regularly review the high level performances of the existing machines with sites representatives
    • Contribute to update the actual Business Case for major investments (installed base, new built)
    • Organize and collect the Return of Experience (standard format) of automation projects, then share the information over the internal database
    • Capitalize on REX to outline golden rules for project execution
    • Maintain the reference of all the existing machines (function, purposes, location)
    • Guide the sites to consult the Reference Library

 

Profile

 

  • Currently following Automation Engineering or master’s degree education, preferably in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical or supply chain disciplines, looking for a 24 months apprenticeship. 
  • Ability to foster communications between multiple stakeholders (process expert, external engineers, industrial functions, finance…)
  • Ability to work across sites/functions in a multi-cultural environment
  • Team spirit approach and good communication skills
  • English fluent
