Alstom is looking for a Certification and Authorisation Manager

Position based in Saint-Ouen (93), national and international travel to be expected (about  10% of the time)

 

 

In short: As Certification and Authorisation Manager, your main mission will be to obtain certificates and/or authorisations for tests and/or commercial commissioning of vehicles from the relevant authorities.  

 

The compliance of Alstom products with national and international regulations is an essential stake for the group. The integration of regulatory requirements is central for the design of our products in order to obtain the various autorisations prior to their entry in commercial service. In order to support the growth of the Saint-Ouen Rolling Stock Certification and Authorisation activities, Alstom is recruiting a Certification and Authorisation Manager.

 

Context

By joining the rolling stock engineering team in Saint-Ouen you will have the opportunity to take part in tram projects, high-speed trains, regional trains or metro for our customers around the world.

You will collaborate with:

  • Alstom's various sites in France, Europe, India and the United States.
  • Métiers on site:  engineering, sourcing,  quality,  planning, validation, production, maintenance

 

You will be asked to analyse technical problems, with the various experts, to collectively  define how to apprehend them.

Your transverse position will allow you to develop an overview of project's activities in order to take on increasing responsibilities.

Mission

As Certification and Authorization Manager:

  • You define the certification and authorisation strategy of the vehicles including budget and planning through a Certification & Authorisation Management Plan in tender/project phase
  • You manage the regulatory texts baseline during tender/project phase and support the engineering team to ensure consistency with contractual requirements.
  • You conduct with the tender/project teams the identification, understanding and validation of the regulatory requirements necessary to obtain certification(s) and/or authorisation(s)
  • You may be brought in to manage certification engineers and subcontractors
  • You develop a mutual understanding with independent assessors and/or relevant authorities
  • You get the necessary authorisations for the completion of tests as well as for the commercial commissioning of the vehicles.

 

 

Profile

 

  • You have a Master's degree (School of Engineering, Physics, Law, Project Management, or others)
  • You preferably  have 3  years of experience in  railway engineering, system  engineering  or  project management.
  • You are rigorous and organized
  • You have a sense of initiative and entrepeneurship
  • You understand and speak English
