Financial Procurement Intern



  • Co-pilot to project managers/ specifically project procurement manager (PPM) to ensure focus on the achievement of the financial goals of the project material budget. Provides all required financial information about the project’s material;
  • Support project managers in various decision making related to material purchase (such as: Buy America Act, Bid, escalation assessment).  Monthly monitoring & support the material budget evolution process, support planning activities, support risk and opportunities management, and ensure that company accounting guidelines are respected;
  • Acts as the point of contact for financial issues relating to the specific material budget;
  • Proactively follow and challenge financial impact of risks and opportunities with regular follow ups on action plans. 





Project Material calculations

  • Ensure alignment TAC approved and proposed. Ensure that material costs are aligned and integrated at appropriate time.    Prepare action items to close the gap;
  • Updating Budget and Forecast figures of the project in Global FORE.  Maintain detailed material budget file and ensure alignment with Global FORE;
  • Review and Analysis of Estimated-at-completion calculation of the project material for Budget, Forecast and Actual in Global FORE;
  • Month end review between Budget, Forecast and Actual figures including risks & opportunities.






Project material reporting

  • Perform on a quarterly basis TAC file.  Overview BI data of the material file upload;
  • Prepare and present the TAC proposed from PPM review’s to Core team reviews;
  • Make financial situation transparent to the PPM as well as the Core team;
  • Lead and support PPM and Core Team in meetings to improve their targets / mitigate risks;
  • Challenge the PPM/ Core team to assure project’s material budget is respected.






Accounting Specific responsibilities

  • Hedging activities in cooperation with the project controllers;
  • Assessment of financial impact of various procurement strategies;
  • Validation of escalation and surcharge invoices;
  • Ensure interco PO-SO is aligned Global FORE vs Material file;
  • Support on cost assessment on change orders.






Specific responsibilities to PPM, Project controllers and other Project Core Team members

  • Keep continuously updated on financial situation of project’s material and upcoming risks & opportunities on a biweekly basis;
  • Build and maintain successful cross functional relationships;
  • Assessment of financial impact of various procurement strategies;
  • Challenge/validate the purchase approvals;
  • Support during Buy America Act Audits;
  • Support cost assessment on Bids.







  • You are an undergraduate or Master-level student in a Finance program; 
  • You have good project management and creative thinking skills;
  • Must be able to always see the big picture whilst in depth understanding of the project;
  • You must be able to apply your analytical skills beyond the traditional functions of finance and to bring them to operational business conversations; 
  • Able to make presentations to senior management teams;
  • Ability to listen, interpret, influence, negotiate, inspire and challenge are essential for this role.
