Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in cost analysis and product design in an innovative and impactful field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in driving cost efficiency and ensuring alignment between technical product definitions and financial objectives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, procurement, project management), coordinate Design to Cost studies, and lead brainstorming sessions to identify cost-saving opportunities, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of calculating and validating cost baselines, as well as establishing governance structures for cost monitoring, but also ensuring stakeholder alignment and driving transformation of cost-saving opportunities into validated results.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Coordinating Design to Cost studies to meet agreed objectives

  • Ensuring transformation of identified cost-saving opportunities into validated reductions

  • Serving as the “voice” of Design to Cost within tender or project teams

  • Applying Design to Cost tools and methodologies to identify and implement cost-saving measures

  • Calculating and regularly updating the “Cost by Unit in Development” at train and subsystem levels

  • Defining and agreeing on recurring cost targets with project stakeholders

  • Organizing and leading creative brainstorming sessions to identify and validate savings

  • Establishing and monitoring Design to Cost KPIs and deliverables

  • Ensuring alignment with product definitions and fostering effective communication among stakeholders

  • Providing regular updates to project teams on cost stakes and action plans


All about you

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering

  • Knowledge of procurement and/or sourcing (an asset)

  • Experience within the transportation industry (railway, automotive, or heavy equipment)

  • Fluency in English and French

  • Strong technical leadership with an autonomous and proactive mindset

  • Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Bilingualism

Proficiency in French and English is required. Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
