Join us as TCMS (Train Control & Monitoring System) Network Engineer, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St-Bruno (QC), CA.
You will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions to agreed timescales, within budget & to an acceptable quality standard.
As a Software Network Engineer, you will perform Network configuration, debugging and maintenance activities, perform integration of the train networks.
Responsibilities:
- Specifying the networks requirements
- Integrating the train networks
- Manage interface between Alstom products and external networks
- Integrating various network modules/systems on the Train Control equipment
- Troubleshooting issues on a test bench and in a virtual environment
- Managing network modules/systems and documentation under configuration
- Assisting with the troubleshooting of network problems and monitoring network performance
- Providing support during the train integration and validation
- Assist in the production of network test plans and testing specifications
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Hands-on network experience of one or more software phases like software development, hardware-software integration, networks testing
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Advanced level knowledge of routing and switching
- Knowledge of working with firewall technologies
- Knowledge on Cloud based solution
- Experience in software engineering fundamentals, such as requirements writing, software design and software testing
- Experience in debugging and command line on Linux platform
- Knowledge of real time network protocols like Ethernet, RS232, RS 485, CAN, TCP/IP
- Ability to methodically troubleshoot a technical issue using tools such as Wireshark and TCPDump on network devices, on Linux devices and various servers
- Familiarity with any of the following is a definite asset:
- Understanding of relevant Network Rail standards
- Real-time distributed applications
- Python
- SVN
- Scripting language and Agile methods.
- Cybersecurity
Required Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
- Problem solving and logical Thinking
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Team player and great ease of communication
- Speaking English and French, both written and spoken
Occasional travels to clients in North America.
