The Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS) Wayside system is the ground-based infrastructure and software collection that gathers, processes, and makes data from the trains available to the end user. It contains the train performance and usage data required for the fleet management, operation, and maintenance. Furthermore. It also allows modification and generation of train configuration files that are transferred to the trains.


Position in St-Bruno-de-Montarville (less than an hour by transit from Montreal).


Reports directly to : Fleet Management Applications Software Domain Leader

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Participating in the analysis, definition, development, validation, and deployment of requirements

  • Designing and writing high quality code,
  • Defining reverse engineering actions to improve or fix issues on existing solutions,
  • Interacting and as needed leading third-party contractors,
  • Contributing to obsolescence management processes with innovative solutions


  • University degree in software, computer, or electrical engineering,

  • At least 3 years of experience within a similar position,

  • Proficiency in C++, with good knowledge of the language specification (C++98, C++11, C++17/C++20 appreciated), standard library, data structure, and algorithms,

  • Familiarity with development with an IDE and a source control system,

  • Knowledge of Windows operating system,

  • Strong computer science fundamentals,

  • Good communication skills, comfortable with task scheduling and progress reporting

  • Experience in developing production-grade applications,

  • Full Professional proficiency in French and English


  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts,
  • Basic knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system,
  • Able to travel to various customer sites across North America, if necessary (10%)
