Alstom is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Tax Advisor to join our Canadian Tax team. In this key role, you will be an integral part of ensuring the tax compliance and efficiency of Alstom's diverse operations across Canada. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of challenging tax matters, collaborate with various stakeholders, and contribute to the success of a dynamic and growing organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting:
    • Prepare and review Canadian income tax returns and other relevant tax forms for Alstom entities.
    • Prepare and review tax provisions in accordance with IFRS, and provide support to external auditors as needed.
    • Manage and coordinate income tax and sales tax audits.
    • Work with external consultants to prepare tax credit claims, such as SR&ED.
    • Analyze transfer pricing for intercompany transactions and prepare related documentation.
  • Tax Planning and Advisory:
    • Provide comprehensive tax support to business units on a variety of tax matters, including corporate tax, indirect tax, and cross-border transactions.
    • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize tax efficiency.
    • Research and analyze complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
  • Other:
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax legislation and regulations, and assess their potential impacts on Alstom's operations.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Procurement, etc.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and systems within the organization.

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is required.
  • In-depth tax specialization (CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or Masters in Taxation) is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate tax compliance and accounting.
  • Proficient with Taxprep and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
